  • Best place to stock up on supplies near the cosmo hotel

    Hi,

we are coming into town this weekend and want to stock up on supplies such as pedialyte, water, snacks, cheap booze, suncream etc. for the hotel room.

Where is the best place to get all this nearby the Cosmo?

i've heard there is some places to stop on the way from the airport, will taxi drivers be ok with stopping?

Alternatively, is there a big supermarket on the strip within walking distance of the Cosmo?

Any tips would be much appreciated!

VONS delivers and I believe the first time you use them they wave the delivery fee. There is also a courier service (http://www.anythinguwantdelivery.com/) ignore the shitty website design these guys are pretty clutch and they deliver alcohol as well.

        thanks,

Do they deliver to your room?? I am coming from overseas and dont have a US mobile number.

Also, do the hotel staff mind you taking store bought booze up to your room?

You can walk literally right across the street to Walgreens and get everything you need there. No need for for delivery.

Also, no they don't might you bringing it to your room...unless you are in a Bungalow.

If after you are fully stocked up you realize later in the trip you need something else (more water, more sunscreen, booze, etc) there is a Walgreens directly across the strip from the Cosmo. It's very convenient.

Not sure about the booze but you can buy everything else you listed at the Walgreens across the street in Planet Hollywood as Reasonable Doubt mentioned. It's literally a short walk across the Skywalk or whatever it's called. I'd go there first and if you want isn't there then use the delivery service.

There's an ABC store right inside Planet Hollywood, near the strip mall entrance. Right across from Earl of Sandwhich. They carry alcohol

The Walgreens definitely carries alcohol. I don't know how much cases or bottles cost....but as of last weekend a 24oz can of beer was $3 or less

Mike32 is right that Walgreens has alcohol, and even extremely reasonably priced large format cans of beer and flavored malt beverages, but their selection of cases of beer and bottles of liquor are expensive if you are comparing them to most grocery stores. I typically go to the Total Wine in Vegas and buy for my whole group, but that really only makes sense if you need a large amount of alcohol for a large number of people. For things like snacks and mixers we'd swing by the Albertsons on E. Flamingo, which also has relatively decent alcohol prices and was where we went before the Total Wine opened.

All of this depends on how long of a trip and for how many people you are talking. If you need a couple 750ml bottles and that's it, it might make sense to just go to Walgreens where decent brands will be marked up $10 more a bottle, but if you are buying 8 1.75l bottles worth, that can be definitely worth going out of your way for.

Thanks for all the advice guys!

Someone recommended we stop at CVS on the way from the airport, but by the sounds of it, i think we will wait to check in and then head across the road to wallgreens and get our supplies.

There is a Walgreens (or CVS) just past the Aria. It's pretty decent and has a ton of supplies you'll need. Definitely walking distance.

From the cosmo, that Walgreens is a just a quick walk across the bridge. Pricing isn't your typical liquor store prices from home, but TBH...it's not that bad considering you are on the Strip.

Just check in, soak in the views from the Cosmo, and go stock up! No need to stop by anywhere from the airport.
                            Next trip: ???

CVS is just downstairs from Aria escaltors. Everything you need and prices seem reasonable.
