    Fight weekend. So 5/2-5/5.

I wouldn't touch the minibar since there are sensors that'll automatically ring up on room charges. It'll be a pain at check-out having them remove all the charges on your room. We bought cases of beer and some hard alcohol across the street at ABC. There's a sink in the room that is part of the wet bar in the room. We filled the sink with ice and stuffed our alcohol in there all day haha.

Maybe a $20 sandwich will get us fountain views etc

any idea how we can get the mini bar emptied so we can stock our own alcohol?
$20 will most definitely get you the view you want, as you're not even asking for a room upgrade. I've had a 2-queen terrace studio before. It was a really high floor and a great view.

Is there anything else you think we should ask for when sandwiching at checkin?

East tower, Bellagio fountain views, resort fees waived etc?

We've never stayed at Cosmo before so looking to make the most out of our trip!

I see i have just booked a twin also but has no balcony..................

Going to try a $40 at the desk and just ask them to give me anything with twin and balcony.

Arrive on a Thursday evening and its 4th of June so not a big weekend really.

What do you think the chances are?

Unless you are incredibly lucky, I don't think you'll get anything serious for $20. I would aim for $50 at least...the cool thing about the Cosmo is that you can pick your check-in person, so I usually end up picking a associate who looks more friendly and easy-going. AKA they don't look like they hate their job haha

I agree, if you are going to book at the Cosmo...don't book the City Rooms. They are nothing special and overpriced. The Cosmo experience is that terrace so you're better off booking a Terrace room and trying to upgrade that.

              I only stayed there twice...

June 2013 - $50 sandwich got me a Terrace Studio upgraded to a Terrace 1 bedroom and waived resort fees.

February 2015 - $100 sandwich got me a Terrace Studio upgraded to a Wrap Around Suite
              Next trip: ???

What sort of upgrade can you get from a 2 queen terrace studio, considering we are 2 males and need 2 beds!

There aren't any other rooms with two queens unless you make a major upgrade (city suite or penthouse).

                    wow.

Seems like half your posts on this forum is about getting an upgrade at Cosmo. Here's a few things to consider...

                    1. An upgrade through a sandwich is not always a sure thing.
                    2. It will depend on what day you check-in, when you check-in, who you check-in with and the availability of that room.
                    3. The only rooms with 2 beds are the City Room (no terrace) , the Terrace Studio - Two Queens, and a Penthouse. You will NOT be getting bumped up to the Penthouse.
                    4. Only room I know of that has a pull-out sofa bed is the Terrace 1-bedroom

I've stayed there my last few trips and it I'd say its maybe 50/50 on an upgrade.

It's really out of your control if your going the sandwich route so stop stressing so much about it. You got so much more to plan and look forward to while you're here!

If having a nice room is that important to you that you have a whole thread asking over and over again about an upgrade, PAY FOR THE UPGRADE!

Just to add to this part, there is the two-bedroom city suite. It's the same sleeping arrangement (king and two queens) as the two-bedroom penthouse, but for half the cost. You still won't get an upgrade at the counter though. Those are your options for two beds.

Edit: I just plugged in random days in July. Weekends, it goes for $1750/night. Other days (Sun-Thurs) it's $500/night.

I agree man, it's all luck anyways. I usually have good luck with sandwiches but it all depends on so many other factors that are out of your control.

And honestly, if you want to sandwich at Cosmo...aim high and flash $100...you have NOTHING to lose. they won't take your money if they can't do anything for you.

But it's funny when people try to tip $20 and expect an upgrade with multiple resort fee charges waived (which are $29 a night at cosmo and majority of strip hotels now btw).
                        Next trip: ???

If you are looking for most bang for buck...book the City Room with two queens and request a terrace 2 queen when you check in.

But keep in mind, that they are hooking you up so you can't be picky. Most of the rooms at the Cosmo are only one bed.

If worst comes to worse, and they can't set you up on your sandwich then just pay the cost to upgrade to terrace with 2 queens.
                          Next trip: ???

Not true. I've done it myself. Went from City Room to 2BR City Suite. $50 sandwich and it was over a weekend. So it IS possible. Can't hurt to try.

If you are aiming for this, ask do they have any rooms ending in ‘53’ available (This is the series number of the 2 BR suite). The more specific you are in your request, the better chance you have for getting what you want.
