Guests at Hotel Pools - Advice?

Are only guests of the hotel allowed to use the pools? For example; if we stayed elsewhere, could we come and use the Cosmo pools?

The reason why i ask is that we were planning on staying at the Cosmo because we want a lively atmosphere, but we are coming from Australia and the exchange rate is so bad at the moment that its making it very expensive, even for the cheapest room.

What other hotels would you recommend for a lively party crowd, but maybe slightly cheaper than the cosmo? bearing in mind, we are aged between 26 - 30 years old.

Dayclubs like Encore Beach Club, Marquee Dayclub, and Wet Republic allow people from other hotels to attend, but they cost money to enter. For standard hotel pools typically you have to be a guest of the hotel. Sometimes a hotel doesn't really have anyone at the front though and then you can just go in without being a guest, while others have specific people hired to check for hotel room keys.

I'm not sure how lax or strict the Cosmopolitan pools are, but really it's probably just worth paying the higher price. Better rooms in Vegas may seem extremely expensive, but when you look at the better location, the better pools, the dayclub and nightclub onsite, and just the quality of the room it actually ends up being worthwhile most of the time.

Assuming you meant checking in on the 9th and checking out on the 13th, a King Encore Resort Suite would be $872 including all taxes and fees and 2 breakfast or lunch buffets per day and a Wynn Double Resort Suite would be $993 also including the same when using promo code ENCAPR2. The lunch buffet is valued at $25.99, and that would be 2 of those per day when using that promo code.

Using the Marriott price match with 25% and the 30% off Get Your Summer Started promo with a Terrace Studio at Cosmo would be $828.24 including all taxes and fees. Using the Marriott price match with 25% and the 30% off Get Your Summer Started promo with a Terrace Studio 2 Queen at Cosmo would be $922.32 including all taxes and fees.

Hi mate,

Thanks for the info on discounted rooms at the Cosmo, I'll have a look now.

Do I have to book through the official hotel cosmopolitan website and then contact the Marriott afterwards to claim a discount?
Or just contact the Marriott first and get them to beat the quoted price ?

There's a whole thread dedicated to the price matching titled "how to get Cosmo cheap" but I'm pretty sure the procedure is that you book the room directly through Marriott and then find a lower price, file a price match claim with Marriott using a link to a page showing the price of the same room at a lower price, and Marriott matches that lower price and then reduces it by 25%.

If you are 26-30 and describe yourself as a "lively party crowd" worried about cost, I would recommend staying at Cosmo, Wynncore etc. if you can find a deal that makes it pretty close to your other on-strip alternatives. If you can't, and the cost difference is significant, I would recommend saving some money on the room and putting it toward GA to day clubs. I think the worst case scenario for your group is to blow your budget on the Cosmo, show up at Boulevard pool, and then decide it's boring and wish you had gone to a day club instead. IMHO, if the price difference is a significant portion of your overall budget, you'd be better off staying at Mirage and walking to EBC, or staying at PH and walking to MDC or Drais, etc.

Seanc - dont confuse hotels with lively pools with major Day Pool parties....not the same. on the main page of this site they go into detail about ur options. The Cosmo has the bamboo, the boulevard as normal guest pools - nothing special, low key...yet it also hosts Marquee Day Club which is fun and it doesnt matter if ur a hotel guest or not since there is usually a cover charge if a headliner DJ is playing.
