We are staying at the Palazzo have 2 bella suites (double queens) for 6, maybe 7. At this time we booked for 4. How strict are they on security for extra people? Can I just request extra keys at check-in? What about additional "extra" guests that may appear, does everyone need a key?

My understanding is that most of the time you can reasonably request 1.5x the number of keys as people you booked the room for without any questions at all. So if you booked for 2 people, 3 keys is totally fine, if you booked for 4, 6 keys would be totally fine. Some people report asking for more keys and not getting charged, others have reported extra charges being added to their bill. If you are trying to use a service like the elevator or the pool usually the policy is 2 people per keycard. Hopefully someone can respond with more current info for that hotel specifically, but I'm pretty sure I've heard wildly different experiences with trying to fit a bunch of people in the Bella Suites since those are so popular for that purpose and Venetian/Palazzo doesn't necessarily have their policies written in stone. -
i'd just ask for 1 key per person and then go back later and ask for another one saying you left it in the room. repeat as necessary.Comment
