Any opinions on the Delano?

I've searched the forum but couldn't find a specific thread on this hotel (I apologize if there was). I was hoping someone could help me with a few questions.

The reviews for the Delano are good on TripAdvisor, but I'm concerned about the location. How is the connection between the Delano and Mandalay Bay? How far is it from the Mandalay Bay's pools, restaurants, etc? We do plan on going to Light one night but I definitely want to go to clubs at Wynn/Encore and EBC.

I've stayed the past two years at the Wynn, and the two years before that at the Venetian. My friend/travel companion wants to stay somewhere cheaper this time. I can't blame her because she flies in from the Oklahoma and wants to stay longer in Vegas (I'm in California). But I'm thinking I like the Venetian better because of the location.

Any thoughts?

The Delano and Manadalay Bay are virtually one hotel, so the connection between the two is seamless. Given that they are at the South End of the strip it does take a bit of time to get anywhere else on the strip. Even the monorail connecting the hotel to the corner of Excalibur across the MGM stops during the night and of course cabs are more expensive from there to the Wynn then for example from MGM or Aria.

Thank you, BayAreaOlli! I've managed to convince her to stay at either Venetian or Encore. I said I'll paid the difference. Don't want to stay that far.

The Delano is at the South end of the strip so if you're going to spend a lot of time at Tao or the Wynncore then it's out of the way, but honestly with Hak, Light, WR and Daylight nearby it's not the end of the earth it used to be. The Delano and entrance is right near Light and the hallway leading to the Mandalay Bay pools. The rooms are awesome.
