Just wondering what sandwich tricks you guys have been able to pull off!
LDW we did 20 at the mirage and would have gotten upgraded to our suite early however they were sold out. She did waive resort fee and give a strip view.

Just checked into planet hollywood also, worked amazing!
Bumped from a Hollywood hip room to panorama suite for $20.

PH...Originally booked Hollywood Hip 2 Queens Fri-Mon in November. Tipped $60 and was upgraded to a resort room with a free cot and had the resort fees waived. I'd say they are sandwich friendly.

Cosmo... Got denied once after flashing a $50. Another time the check in clerk allowed us to check in early but they had no "comp" upgrades available. Threw him $20 for early check in. Not very sandwich friendly.

PH - $100 sandwich nabbed me a panoramic suite! Sun/Mon Night in June. Room was originally a comp Hollywood hip room

Cosmo - $50 got an upgrade from terrace studio to 1 bedroom terrace strip view and waived resort fees

Rio - $20 sandwich got me a corner suite. Room was originally a comp room.

TI - $20 only got me a strip view but some extra coupon books for discounted food and b1g1 drinks at the casino bars

Hey sorry, rookie aussie.

How do I give the desk clerk the money? Can I just blatantly hand it over? Or does it have to be discrete (e.g. for management purposes). Also, I presume they know what its for .. so you don't need to ask for an upgrade.. though correct me there if i'm wrong please

at planet hollywood... we had the money sitting on the counter so the clerk could see it and asked if they had any complimentary upgrades. Then handed the money over at the end of the check in process.

That way works just fine.
I also usually put it in between my credit card and ID and hand it to the clerk. Last time at PH i didn't say anything and the guy immediately saw it and said "let me see what i can do for you". My most recent trip at Flamingo the guy immediately saw it and said "sorry sir, we don't have any upgrades available" and handed it back to me, before i even had a chance to ask if there were any upgrades.

So long story short - they know the drill!

sandwiched $20 at venetian got upgraded to the bella suite and a nice view.. I think he was willing to give me a nicer suite but I needed 2 queens and their options for that are slim.

I think Venetian/Palazzo is pretty sandwich friendly though just try to get someone young if you can

I'm curious about persons getting comp upgrades on a longer length of stay as I am going for 9 nights soon. Mostly work but I added on a few days for play and I am quite skeptical about trying the sandwich trick for a long stay as it will be harder to pull off. Any success story's for longer stays??

I would think actual room upgrades might be harder to get, but things like waived resort fees, food & beverge credits, etc could come in handy on a longer trip

I agree with MikeK32, however if you have a player's card and use it on check in...i'm sure if you have a good amount of gaming activity on it, they'll be more likely to give you a room upgrade too.

i got an upgrade to a higher floor and view at the vdara with just my players card...barely had play too!
