  • SLS Hotel - Thoughts and opions?

It looks like the SLS is appearing on Hotwire for cheap. Just wondering if people have heard good / bad things about this? I was hoping to find out more but obviously it doesn't open until this weekend. My trip is in October. What have people been hearing about the hotel / pool / restaurants?

Do you think its a little too far North? I will be attending a conference, so it will work out well during the day. In the evenings, I will probably go wherever the crowd goes -- could be Strip, could be elsewhere (e.g. Palms) etc. so I'm not too worried about the location.

It would be interesting to see how this all goes... so far everything looks promising about this place (i.e. nightlif and daylife wise)

Looks like a fantastic hotel. I've been following the construction pretty closely.

That end of the strip will be very exciting come a few years time when Resorts World is completed. There's a rumor swirling around about Fontainebleau too - hopefully we see something happen with that.

I will be staying there in a few weeks and I will get back to the thread with a full review. Thus far it does look promising, the only downside I could see is its location. All depends on the person and how long they are willing to travel/wait when in Vegas. Having stayed at both Wynn and Encore as well as Mandalay Bay in years past I hated the fact that they were at opposite ends of the strip respectively. Now the SLS is even further than Encore.

Thx for the input. I too have been scoping out what looks to be the SLS on Hotwire. The hood isn't that great, but there is a monorail station here so it's more accessible than you might think.

If you aren't going any time soon I will give a review after my stay in a few weeks. But I have read a few reviews online and for the most part all positive. I've read that the rooms are small but if you've stayed at the SLS in Miami, you should know size of a room isn't a strong SLS hotel factor.

i stayed in the world tower. the most basic room. i did not enjoy it at all. from the wallpaper to the blinds and the material of the couches. it was very cheap to me. the elevators in the parking lot basically just got a new coat of paint but no new material. looked cheap as well and low-end. that being said the interior of the casino was very modern. the main entrance tile was impressive with all the lights. all the cocktial waitresses in the gaming tables were so young and good looking. plenty of food establishments. 800 pizza while it tastes good it can be hit or miss, our pizza (since their thing is its made in 60 seconds) we got a good chunk of it still undercooked (still dough in the crust)

edit: our food menu wasnt in the room when i checked in i was on hold for 30 minutes before i hung up and went to the lobby to ask one personally. granted it was opening week and it was busy they should have had all of this on lock.

I passed it while on the monorail which is a bonus bc you can hop on that thing and get to the strip (use myVegas app to collect free monorail pass) but the exterior looked pretty nice and so does the website. But just try to look on tripadvisor and etc for hotel room pics. Bc you can probably find a good deal on the strip too if its just "okay"

Looks like it should be on Fremont Street instead of the strip. Just seems like its trying too hard to be "cool". From the website it looks like the rooms dont even have doors to the bathrooms, but they have curtains instead. HUH?? the casino doesnt even have a proper ceiling,...it looks like a warehouse painted black.

anyway, if theyre not completely shut down in a year or two, theyll be a bargain basement hotel. dont even waste your time.

The rooms looked unfinished. The only thing that really stood out was the mirror living room tables. Other than that, everything was white, cloth covered up couch, a blanket with a design covering the walls.
The restaurants were good, the nightlife venues are beautiful.
I'm not impressed with the overall casino/hotel.

That's exactly it. Check out Yelp! reviews. There were a lot of issues on opening night, but hopefully, they addressed them all. For the price, I'd spend a few more and go to the City Center, Wynn, Encore, or something equivalent. Casino floor is not great at all. Sad, because the LA, CA hotel is tremendous but doing a casino is the failure in my opinion. Just seemed rushed.

I hear they are giving out comp rooms left and right to anyone who gambles in their casino (future offers of course) just trying to drum up business.

I haven't stayed personally but the rooms don't look that great to me.
