  • Largest hotel room that won't have a butler/secret hotel spy!

Hey guys! My friends and I love to party in hotel rooms. We like to dress up, throw a little rager or specialized party and usually burn up a friday night doing this. It's cost effective and we get to see some really cool rooms. So lately I have been trying to find the best rooms where I can have the most people without the hotel getting mad that 10+ are sleeping in there or that we are loud.

At this point, one of the best ones I have found is the Aria Executive Hospitality Suite. Had maybe 16-20+ people in there on a Friday. NO butlers, no one from management came. Super sound suppression, far from everything (on a corner of hotel) and large. 2000 square feet and i've gotten it from $350 a night before for friday/saturday. Right now it's the winner.

So i am asking the community their thoughts/suggestions on hotel parties.

    - I need a large room, big enough to sleep 10+ (ground/couch/chair/bed/kitchen counter)
    - Must be good with noise. Rooms with entryways and on corners help
    - Must be nice/luxurious etc. Not stellar but better than most.
    - Cannot have any kind of management person come check in (booze/people sleeping etc)
    - Less security around elevators the better (since lots of people will be coming up here and there)

Any tips on booking? What to say? What to bring? Worth it to sandwhich for higher levels or anything else in general?

Disclaimer: I understand clubs are great and we should not spend as much time as we do in the hotel room. We like it though and we're a cool core group of IT/gamer guys that enjoys just trolling with each other and hanging out during the day. We usually bring some hefty video/photo equipment with us and like to take epic pictures. We always do a club saturday night but friday has been reserved for this.

    Thanks!

    - EK

My buddy had a Skyline Terrace Suite at MGM and it was pretty phenomenal. It's only 1,300 square feet, so not as big as that room at Aria, but it also has a 750 square foot patio (which is the best part). We had a pretty decent amount of people in there one night and were being pretty loud (even out on the patio) and didn't hear anything from MGM about the noise.

Yea! That is something else i have looked at. Both skyline and Marquee. It's within my budget for splitting (usually split between 6-12 people) and in a central location. I was looking at that for my next event. The noise part is good news. Just maids the next morning? Do you know how many you slept in there? Is there a separate elevator or security at it?

Last trip had the terrace suite. I had 15 people sleep over :-) Weather was nice out though, 3 slept outside on the couches, 5 on the couches in the living room, 4 (me and 3 girls yyyyayyyy buddddyyy) on the bed, one in the bathtub / spa tub, and 2 on the floor. More than enough room. I'll see if I can find pics of the epicness.

Nope, no separate elevator or security, just the maids if you want to use them. We all had other rooms so only a few people slept in that room, but I doubt it would make much of a difference.

Have you looked at the Elara 4 bedroom suite? They are a pretty great value, you'll probably end up spending $350 a person for the whole stay rather than per night. You have more than enough sleeping space for 10 people (we had 13 and everyone had a spot to sleep that wasn't the floor), it has a full kitchen with fridge for storing a ton of booze. They do have security at the elevator checking keys but as long as you don't go up with a group of 10 with 1 key you should be fine. The rooms are nicely appointed and you have a 8 foot projector screen tv in the living room. There's also a great sound system that you can plug your phone into and it plays throughout the main room. There's no butler service just maids. A couple of concerns are that it is a non-smoking hotel, it's a bit of the strip (5 min walk through the planet hollywood shops) and I've heard people complain about noise in the past but sounds like they do a 3 strike system with noise complaints and the 4 bedroom units are at the end of the hallways.

I have not look at the Elara in depth.

                Anyone have any experience with:

Cosmo (they never have any deals as far as I can see)
                Vdara
                PH
                Wynn
                Mandalay
                Monte Carlo
                TheHOTEL
                Caesars
                Mirage

I've had pretty good experience with the wraparound at Cosmo and connecting terrace one bedroom. Never have had any noise complaints. Two beds, one couch with pullout bed, and a big sectional couch. It's usually pricey unless you get the price match which is quickly dying

I agree with previous posts...the Elara is a pretty legit setup, walking is a bit of a pain though.

Elara is cool, but I stayed there when it was "PH Towers". I had heard that they hav become sticklers about letting people up without a key. I have also heard that they are not kind to loudness in the rooms, but I dont know this first hand. you would think that with those HUGE rooms, they would know there is going to be partying, and just let it ride.

I have stayed at: Mandalay Bay, Aria, Flamingo, Excalibur, Hooters, PH Towers / Elara, Monte Carlo, Venetian, Luxor, LV Hilton, Rio, Mirage, MGM, Hard Rock Hotel, Planet Hollywood, Stratosphere, Tuscany, Tropicana, and rented a 6BR house. I think thats all.

A friend of mine gets the Skyline Marquee suite at MGM every year for a party. Last time there were at least 100 people in there - needless to say it was rammed and moving around was pretty difficult. But for the few hours that I was there, no complaints or visits from security. With the doors shut you could only start to hear some noise a few doors down and trust me it was LOUD. Obviously whenever the door opened you could hear it from down the hallway.

I think with the bigger suites Vegas hotels are pretty lax about in room parties and noise. They're built for entertaining and they know it. Compare this to hotels in Sydney - recently I booked a suite for a friend's birthday. We had 7 people in the room, no music just talking normally - as soon as 11pm hit we have security at the door threatening to kick us out with no refund. Everyone that wasn't staying the night had to leave.

That sounds awesome. It looks to be around $800 a night which is perfect. The terrace one is $1200 which isnt bad either.

                            100 people! Damn!!!!!

I think I would only ever hit 20-40 but I want to sleep at a minimum 10-15 in there and I know they get ancy about that after a while.

Did someone have to walk you up if you remember? Security at elevators?

^ I haven't stayed at MGM for the past 2 years but there has never been security at the elevators (stayed every year from 2008-2012). Anyone can go to any floor they want without a key. Whether or not this has changed during renovations I don't know. The Skyline marquee suites are at the very end of each hallway - big double doors.
