  • Should I book Aria or pay extra $40/night for Cosmopolitan?

I'm looking at 2 hotels. They are on Hotwire, so I don't know what hotel they are for sure, but based on HotelDealsRevealed's hotwire hotel list, I'm pretty sure one of the hotels is the Aria (for $70/night). The other is the Cosmo for $110 per night (Sun to Wed). See: http://hoteldealsrevealed.com/hoteli...e/nv/las-vegas

These are Hotwire so I can't be entirely sure what hotel I'll get but that's a risk I'm prepared to take. My question for you all is this: Is the Cosmopolitan Hotel worth paying an extra $40 per night for over Aria? If so, why? If not, why not? Looking forward to hearing your opinion.

Aria is awesome with really nice rooms, part of MGM rewards. Cosmo rooms are nice too and I really like that almost all rooms at Cosmo have a balcony. However, I'm guessing this is for the city room at Cosmo which is small and doesn't have a balcony. I'd go with Aria for $70 for sure.

I'd save the extra money and use it on booze. I love Cosmo, but their City Rooms aren't worth it.
I'm not bitchy, I'm just drawn that way.

Agreed, the city room at Cosmo is basically just a normal room, Aria is a nice hotel and if you can get a room at a decent price the only reason to pay more is because you prefer to stay at the Cosmo.

I would recommend Aria, all the rooms have a cool iPad like touch screen in the rooms!

"Each room at ARIA is equipped with a bedside 7” touch screen remote for integrated one-touch control of room features, including dimmable lighting, room temperature, television/ video systems, music, wake-up calls, drapes and service requests through a single, easy-to-use remote control."

Yeah, it's a city room at the Cosmo...stick with Aria.

If its a terrace room, pay the extra cash and then sandwich for a fountain view! (it'll be easy since you're going mid week)
            Next trip: ???

Aria is a great hotel. I would pick it as well and use Mlife to rack dem points up!

Great tips guys. I'll go with the cheaper room and keep fingers crossed that it actually is the Aria!

So, are you saying that I should try the $20 sandwich at the Aria and ask for a fountain view? I'm assuming that's the Bellagio fountain? I've had a Fountain view from Vdara before, so I'm wondering if a view facing south would be better? Any tips on the type of room I should try to upgrade to (aside from those with great views). All your responses are oh so much appreciated as always.

I'd put money on it being Vdara

Having stayed at both hotels before I can honestly say that you can't go wrong whichever you chose, both have a great location and I would put them in the top 2 hotels I've stayed in Vegas (not managed to get to Wynn/Encore yet). Although I would say that the Cosmo would be my preference there really is not much in it and I'd say its not worth the extra cash.
An 8,000 mile journey is always worth it when it ends in Vegas!

Vdara doesn't have a casino but Hotwire is showing a casino, so I've ruled it out. Plus there is a cheaper hotel showing on Hotwire that's 5 stars and no casino, which is likely the Vdara. I'll take you up on your bet -- but no cash, just a friendly bet. I'll pull the trigger this time tomorrow (if not sooner) and will report back on what I got. I'll be pissed if its Vdara.

If Hotwire is showing casino then you can be pretty sure it's not Vdara so I wouldn't be too worried about that. Good Luck.

All in good fun. Well I booked and yes it was the Aria as I was expecting based on the Hotwire Vegas Hotels listing. Quite pleased with mid-week room for $70 per night and the gamble paid off.

I appreciate all the help you guys have given me.
