Staying at Hardrock next month. I know it's off the strip but our group is a lot of golf so we cut back on hotel expenses. Any tips/tricks?
How's Hardrock these days?

I was just there last week (TR pending cause I'm lazy and have to wait until people tell me what pictures I can post lol)...it was ok, but definitely a pain in the ass getting back and forth at night. It wasn't as bad as I thought it'd be, but the guys my friends hooked up with the whole trip paid for cars to get us a lot of the time lol so my POV is skewed. But I think as long as people go into it aware that they will have to pay for cabs when it comes to nightlife- it's not that bad.I'm not bitchy, I'm just drawn that way.

I have stated at HRH for years. I love the HRH tower, nice rooms, good pricing. The food there is good, Pink Taco and Lucky's for cheaper eats, Nobu for the sushi. If you want an awesome steak go to DelFrescos right up the street.Originally posted by pee_win View PostStaying at Hardrock next month. BJ tables aren't the best game, no surrender, etc but the crowd is always interesting.
The pool is fun, there different areas depending on your vibe, plus swim up and all that stuff.
You can get anywhere on the strip for a $15 cab ride. If $15 is what you're worried about when coming to town, then you're in the wrong place.Been to Vegas too many times to count, partied in too many pools and clubs to track, but when you live so close, why wouldn't you?

No kidding! I wouldn't say JERSEY SHORE status but it's a little bit of an older midlife crisis crowd (late 30s) in ed hardy and affliction.Originally posted by SelfMade View PostExpect to see a lot of Ed Hardy shirts.
The casino was pretty boring, and nothing special about the room (besides the bed). Our room actually had an opening where you can get outside on the roof which was a little weird. However, rooms were dirt cheap and it was super close to the airport.
This was way back in 2011-2012 when Vanity was still a hot spot.Next trip: ???

Stayed there last month 4/24-4/27 for a few days for R&R after going to 2 conferences out in CA.
$20 sandwich got me an upgrade from the casino tower to the paradise tower facing the pool which from what I understood is a newer tower like the HRH suite only tower.
Try not to get the first 2 or 3 floors facing the pool as they power wash the pool area starting at 7 AM.
Casino is extremely quiet except for 11 P- 2 AM it seemed.
Cab ride to Caesars was $18 due to some traffic going to but $14 coming back just to give you an idea of $$.
Due to the bad weather by Vegas standards Rehab on that Sat was dead with the guy from Black eye Peas dj'ing not named Will.I.AM.
Pink Taco's has a good happy hour and liked Culinary Dropout also.
I didn't see the Jersey Shore/Affliction people there as much other than the store that was empty along with the other shops 99% of the time when I passed by. Honestly I think it has become a 35 yo+ crowd dynamic that don't want to be on the strip anymore and most probably drive in.
It is what it is. It had it's day and he Vegas strip has blown by it.Happily sponsoring the Las Vegas economy since July 1996

Its not my first choice, but Ive never had a bad stay there. IMO it is the most cab friendly. Quickest and cheapest ride to the airport, and to any hotel on that side of the strip. I cant think of any reason Id go to Caesars, so all of my cabs were really cheap. Ive been in both towers and both had decent rooms. If your on the HRH email list, you can get some really good deals that make it worth staying there over Harrahs, Ballys, Rio, Palms, or similar hotels. Compared to PH or something similar, it would really just depend on your budget, and how you prioritize location, room cost, ect.Blackout Artist

Thanks for all the feedback. Luckily my entire group is aware of the location. Like I mentioned, we are playing golf 2 full days and we have a rental car so anywhere we go during the day will be fine. No issues cabbing it out for a couple nights to party.
So sounds like I need to try to do a sandwhich trick for Paraside Tower (higher floor). Good to know about Pink Taco.
