  • Someone put me on to the D Casino Hotel Las Vegas

I have a group of 3 i'm planning for in July/Aug for Vegas. I was thinking about the Aria, Cosmo or Luxor. The only reason i'm considering this and staying off the strip for the first time is because they are offering $13 a night rooms and they look pretty good and average reviews. I'm thinking more money in the pocket, more action Any wise words of wisdom?
    Palms Place - 2008

    Luxor - 2012
    Aria - July 30th - August 5th 2014

I had the same mentality for my upcoming trip. I was trying like crazy to convince the guys to stay off strip, but they wouldn't have it. They said cost of taxi to get to where we were going to be partying would offset cost of staying at PH. We did some calculations and it was still more to stay at PH, but location is everything so thus we are staying at PH. All I care about for a room is it is clean and the curtains block out all the light so I can sleep past 8am. I've heard nothing but positive things about it. If you plan to party even one night up by there, it could be worth it financially.

The other issue is you are looking at Aria, Cosmo, or Luxor. Aria and Cosmo price wise are much more than Luxor. I just got an email from Luxor for a weekday price of $26/night, so that could be something else. Just sign up for an MLife account and make sure the emails don't go to your spam folder. I'm sure you will get one before July as I seem to get an offer from them every 10-14 days.

You dont want to be cabbing it from far away from the strip. It's not just money, but time. It's not like youll just go to strip one time, you'll go during day, go back to get ready, go back again. You could easily be going back and forth 3-4 times a day. Money and time adds up quick. With how short and packed vegas trips are - time is too valuable commidity to save a couple bucks (when there are cheap hotels on strip).

I thought about renting a house on my last trip, but eventually due to cabs and other things went for cheap on strip (got a great deal at ballys $954 all in for 3 rooms, 3 nights, including resort fees).
If you have to ask how much it costs, you probably can't afford it! That being said, it's Vegas and doesn't hurt to try!

      Planning
      2014 - March 13-16 - Bachelor Party
      2014 - June 5th - 9th (maybe) - Big 30.

Time is something I can afford being that we will be there 6 days. Where did you get the Bally's deal at?

Nah. Going to be on the strip partying. I'm thinking should I just do one good room or three separate ok rooms? I already have the stretch Cadillac limo reserved and it just wouldn't be right pulling up to the Stratosphere...lol

Looking to spend around $1,500 but I'm always trying to get cheaper. I will go hard partying but not where I sleep for 4 hours....

Well, they have a "price match guarantee", in which they will match and give 10% off matched price. I found a great deal on booking.com. Pretty much immediately that deal on booking.com wasn't able to be replicated. Either way I had all my screenshots. Then booked on the bally's website for 500 more than the booking.com price and submitted the claim form with screen shots that showed date/time and the complete deal, including nightly rate and grand total.

They were a pain in the ass about approving it though. First they sent me a denial saying I didn't have enough "evidence" when I attached 3 screen shots showing anything they could possibly need. I asked them to re-review it. They came back and denied it again. I was furious since I read all the fine print and had all the info requirements they required. After numerous calls where each person sent me to someone else. I finally got a hold of someone at the hotel that told me I was denied because I had my total rewards number in the system when I booked and got a "total rewards rate" on one of the 3 rooms even though all 3 were same price. I told them since they were matching a rate on another site, not there own it shouldn't matter what rate I had on the bally's site (even though it wasn't a deal anyways). I had to go up the food chain until a supervisor finally told me he would match it, but he couldn't do the 10% off too. I took the offer and coincidentally he ended up giving me 10% off after all.

So, if you do the price match "best rate guarantee" make sure you dont have total rewards number in nor have any "deal/promotion" and just purchase the stock rate.

It ended up being $954 for 3 rooms (thursday - Sunday) with resort fees in that cost ($18/day/room). I handshake'd and was upgraded to the jubilee tower, which was nicer and slightly more spacious, but they are doing construction outside the tower to build another strip mall and that was annoying at times when I was trying to sleep at 7 AM. Even then I would pick Bally's again for location location location and being on a budget.
