Vdara Sandwich Trick

Has anyone tried the $20/$50 sandwich at the Vdara? Did it work? What did you get? I'm not really concerned with view, but I saw that someone on tripadvisor got rose pedals sprinkled throughout the suite. Celebrating a birthday, so anything extra is a plus. Any ideas as to what I can shoot for besides a better view would be great, TIA. (Already shooting for an upgrade, but a back up idea would be great).

I can't imagine the bolded part had anything to do with the sandwich. I mean, you are usually up in your room 5 min tops after check-in. No way they'd sprinkle your room with pedals in that time. That's something done for special occasions.

Maybe not, but there has to be something other than a view that I can request. The only other thing that I know of is asking for a bottle. With the amount of people that sandwich, I know there are other ideas/experiences out there

You should do sandwiches for upgrades, not incidentals like bottles. A hotel receptionist can control hotel inventory they have far less pull over the material stuff.

I guess I've just gotten lucky in the past then considering I've gotten a bottle and champagne on 2 different trips... hopefully I'll get lucky again

I stayed at the Vdara about 2 years ago. The gal didn't take my money, but I did get an upgrade. I didn't know it was an upgrade, but then we saw our friends room. We had a console divider between the bedroom and the kitchennete, whereas theirs was more or less the same layout but without the divider. We also had a great view of the Bellagio fountains.

I stayed at Vdara last May and the sandwich worked very smooth. Went from a Delude suite to an Executive Corner Suite. It also helped the front desk person was a fellow Chiver. KCCO!
