The surronding area by Cosmo (eats)

Last year I stayed at Cosmo and really didn't eat much at all that I can remember.
What are the best spots in the area. Does Cosmo have a good Buffet? How about Steak Houses and just good places in general.

Literally every dining option in the Cosmo is legit. A couple of my favs are:

Wicked Spoon - one of the best buffets on the strip
STK - great steak and an unbelievable atmosphere
Holsteins - burgers and brews (Or booze filled shakes)
Secret Pizza - for late night

Plenty of options in the Cosmo itself, wicked spoon buffet and secret pizza place are both pretty good options inside the hotel.

don't forget Earls across the road at PH. Saved my life many a time.

Earl's across the street along with Pink's Hot Dogs. There's a bunch of food options at planet hollywood and the miracle mile shops as well

Earl's is 24 hrs. Go there all the time after work. Or have donuts or garlic fries right after my shift at Rose. Rabbit. Lie. in the Study. They're my weakness.

Earls might be one of the best sandwich places i have ever been to, although i usually am there late night and hungover.

I've grown less and less impressed with the offerings at Cosmo. It's like they've grown complacent. Last time at STK was particularly disappointing, it's all gloss and product now.

The one exception in my mind however is Estiatorio Milos which apart from having a great raw bar and genuine imagination with the menu also carry the best lunch deal in all of Vegas: http://www.cosmopolitanlasvegas.com/...NCH%20MENU.pdf

Blue Ribbon and Scarpetta are also good. But having walking distance to their original restaurants from my condo in the West village, Manhattan I'm constantly reminded that the Vegas versions are a step below.

Would agree that the scarpetta in and blue ribbon in Vegas are both decent, but for whatever reason not as good as the ones located in NYC. I found even the scarpetta located in the Fountainbleau Miami was much closer in quality and atmosphere than when I dined at the one in Vegas.

In addition to Milos and Blue Ribbon, don't forget Jaleo and China Poblano. I've always thought highly of Jose Andres, but these two places really made me a fan.

I will also second the mentions of Holsteins and the buffet. Wicked Spoon is definitely in my tier 1 for Vegas buffets.

I agree that the Blue Ribbon in NYC is way better, but I still think the LV location is one of the best sushi places in Vegas.

Ever since Le Cirque changed locations a while back to the Bloomberg tower, it's been downhill. Would agree that the one in Vegas has for whatever reason seems to care more about the food rather than the scene and regulars. Can't go wrong with any of the recommended places above.

I hate to make this a NYC vs Vegas thread but I can get equally good or better dumplings a few blocks from my condo (not even in Chinatown). China Poblano is by no means bad it's just madly overpriced for what you're getting (even with Vegas prices in mind).

I would assume that there has to be tons of superb dumpling/dim sum places in LA that would edge out CP as well given the large native Asian community in town.
