Wynn Sandwich Advice

Hello All,

I was wondering if it would be possible to a try a sandwich at the Wynn and get upgraded to a room at Encore. I've tried such a move at the Venetian two years ago and got an upgraded room at the Palazzo. I booked a deluxe resort double for 5/9- 5/11 and wanted to try and get a resort suite-two queens at Encore. Any tips and suggestions would be appreciated!

Wynn is notorious for refusing the sandwich. The jump from Wynn room to an Encore suite isn't all that big though, I'd just ask for a cash upgrade at check-in.

Stayed in Encore's Tower Suites a couple years back. I'll never forget the laminated upgrade "brochure" that was handed to us.

Stayed there twice. They run a very tight ship. Worth a shot I guess if you're feeling lucky. Worse that can happen is having your cash returned to you.

Wynn is notorious for shutting down all attempts even if you hit the 100 dollar level. I once stayed there for business and asked why that is and a clerk pretty much said management watches them like hawks and takes it way more serious than just about any other hotel.

August 2013 my friend and I got upgraded to a panoramic view room without asking, but I am sure it was pure luck. We don't gamble and I didn't even do the sandwich thing.

I was staying at TI across the street and my friends were staying at Wynn. We both tried the upgrade trick. It worked for me at TI but didn't work for them at Wynn. Not saying it won't for you, just that it didn't for them. I guess it doesn't hurt, except maybe a bit of embarassment.
