Anyone know why rates are so high for middle of July (20-28)? Been going there for past 5 years and the rates were never as high as they are now.

Any particular reason you are looking for Venetian? Whenever I go, I usually just let Priceline tell me where I'm staying. If you stick to 5 stars in the North Strip zone, you'll get one of: Venetian, Palazzo, Bellagio, and Wynn / Encore (although rare). You can save big if you don't mind being in the south end of the strip. Vdara, Cosmo and Aria.
