  • Palms Place or MGM Signature

First, I just want to say there is a ton of good info in this forum. Thanks to everyone that contributes. So here's my deal...

I am heading to Vegas on 3/19 for my bachelor party. 6 guys (including me) staying 3 nights. All 29-30 years old and all but 1 have been to Vegas at least once.

I am trying to decide if we should stay in a 2 bedroom suite at at palms place or MGM sig.

We are definitely seeing Tosh's stand up on Friday night. Already have tickets. We like clubs but don't love them, so would probably only have one planned night for bottle service (if the pools are open we would probably sub bottle service at the club for the pool and not get it at the club). We will want to get some action in on March Madness.

We get in on a Wednesday and that night we will probably just gamble and play it by ear. Tosh's show is on Friday night. So if we do the club it would be Thursday night. If we do the pool it would be Thursday or Friday.

So with that information does one hotel seem like a better fit and why?

One thing I am trying to decide is will we actually walk from Sig to the strip and/or use the monorail. If we are still going to cab it, then does it just come down to which hotel will be more fun and then which one will be more fun?

    Thanks

I would suggest the Signature due to proximity to the strip. For a Bachelor's party you won't want to be so far away. Also it is likely you would walk to the strip at least in my experience it did happen. Granted it is a pain but we still did it.

The rooms at the Sig are spacious from what I've heard from friends. It's always better to stay on the Strip

Pretty spacious and really nice. While I can't compare it Palms Place but I really liked the Signature.

I've stayed at both.. Including having a 2 bdrm at the Palm's Place.

I'm gonna say MGM Sig just because of convenience that the strip is just right there. Funny enough, my trip had 6 guys as well lol. If you guys are comfortable with sharing beds, you'll have no problem fitting 6 into the room. The only thing that sucks about MGM Sig is if you're stuck at the tower that is furthest from the strip. It'll be quite a walk to get to the strip.

But, Palm's Place 2 bdrm suite is really nice though. I wouldn't say it's worth it enough to drive/get taxi'd every time you guys wanna go out though.

The only complaint we had about Palms for my friend's bach party was the location. Way to many cab rides to and from the strip. You figure at least 2 round trips a day. One to get to the strip, come back to get ready to go back out that night on the strip to come back and crash until the next day. If I remember the law is 5 passengers to a cab max so you will do 2 cabs every trip unless you can get a minivan for each trip.

I've stayed at both and I think Elara beats both of those. Location is great and spacious. Elara 2 bedroom is better than the 2 bedroom at Signature.

Thanks for the input. Thinking we will do the sig. It's cheaper anyways...

If it's cheaper, then there is no question, definitely stay at the Sig. I haven't actually stayed there, but usually do stay at the Palms. The cab rides get really annoying. If my rooms weren't free, or nearly free, I couldn't justify them any more. Customer service seems to have really gone downhill at the Palms in the last few years as well. My last couple trips have left me with something to be desired. I do like Palms Place, but just stay on the strip. It's easier.

I'd go with the Signature. Although it's set back from the strip a little bit it would still be way more convenient than taking a taxi from the Palms any time you wanna go to the strip, and I'm guessing that for a bachelor party a lot of what you'll be doing will be on or near the strip.
