  • Hotel Suggestions for bachelor party - 16 ppl

    Hi All,

Looking for hotel suggestions for a group of 14-16 people coming May 2nd. Staying two nights, Friday and Saturday.

We would like to be on the strip with a decent pool, decent casino.

I know this is some time away but does anyone know of any deals/suites/conjoining rooms that could accommodate? Would be a good fit?

    I think we are looking to spend $120 a person (16) = $1,920 total for 2 nights

    I appreciate the help,

    D

Your budget is a little low for 16. $60/night/person, you're not going to be able to find much, especially on a weekend. The only place that might fit your budget is Elara, grabbing a couple 2-4 bedroom units, but even then, I don't think you're going to be in budget. I recommend just grabbing 1 suite for the bachelor, and regular rooms for everyone else. That's what we did on our trip and there wasn't any problems. For example, something like the 2 bedroom hospitality suite at the mirage with a couple more rooms might work.

Just looking at Harrahs website, usually lower pricing than MLife properties, which shows all of the rates for all of their hotels, the lowest one is Harrahs at $140/night w/o tax and resort fees for those dates. MLife lowest is Vdara at $180/night before taxes, etc but don't know if they do 2 beds. Looks like some good sized conventions, one is expecting 20k attendees, so the price point you are looking for will most likely be out of reach.

Possible suggestion is Golden Nugget on Fremont Street? Looking at $228, on their website, for the 2 nights and no resort fees. Pretty solid pool and you can cab it back to the strip and take the tram between hotels on the strip. Hooters Standard is running $89/night with 2 beds that weekend also directly on their website. Kayak.com is a good website to use to see the costs of all the hotels in the Las Vegas area.

      Hope this helps.

        To give you some perspective-
Most strip hotels charge a $20-25 a night "resort" fee
so if you have eight rooms your looking at like $200 a night x2 $400 in resort fees. That leaves $1600 for rooms / 8 so your looking for like $90 rooms on the strip on the
        1. biggest nights Friday and Saturday
        2. during Cinco De Mayo, Kentucky Derby and probably Mayweather Fight weekend.

Your not likely to get any of the big name strip hotels anywhere near $90.

I would still go to vegas that weekend because it should be great! But I would have a talk with the group about just getting some regular rooms to save money for pools/nightclubs.

For example right now on kayak.com you can get a double bed room without resort fees on Tropicana for about $45 a night. So around $360 a night- $720ish for both nights. The WAX bus from the airport costs $2 a person and drops off in front of the hotel.
So you can use that other thousand on pools / nightclubs

Thanks for the advice. It looks like the party will be 13 people now. I am able to use my Total Rewards points to either get the following:

          3x rooms - Caesars Octavius Tower 2 Queen ($2k ish) - around $150 a person
3x rooms - Flamingo 2 Queen ($800 ish), was able to get one of the rooms comped for a night - around $60 a person

We picked these Total Rewards hotels due to their center strip location and pools.

From my experience, I feel Caesars is a more "chill" pool whereas Flamingo can be rowdy and our type of crowd.

I guess it comes down to what we are looking for. Obviously the cheaper the better, but Caesars is a much nicer hotel/casino.

You guys have thoughts, suggestions I might be overlooking?

          Thanks,
          D
