  • HRH policy!! Could anybody confirm that??

    Just found this on tripadvisor:

"We had booked to stay here in September but in doing some reviews I had seen guests speaking of having their booze and sodas confiscated by security at the elevators going back to their rooms as well not being permitted outside food to their room such as pizza or a bag of chips. I called the hotel to see if this was indeed true and if it their policy and was told YES this is absolutely true....with that we unbooked immediatley I'm on holidays I don't need to be told as a 40 year old man I can't have a drink in my room. So much for treating us as their guests."

We also booked there for september and if this is true we will get some serious problems! We cant change the hotel b/c we booked through expedia click&mix!!

Anybody made the same experiences there? This policy is maybe common in europe, but i've never seem somehing like that in the US!

I have stayed there several times and brought food, snacks and drinks to the room without an issue.
I know the hotels prefer you don't bring food to your room, but I have never seen security actually take anything.

Just put it in a backpack. There's no way security is checking every bag. This isn't an airport. Haha

most hotels in Vegas technically have that policy.

Unless you load a luggage cart up with liquor you are fine. I've bought tons of food and drink back and they never once looked twice at me or my bag (and there is no security during the day anyway).

I think as long as you are not rolling in a keg, you will be fine.

I stay there 40-50 nights a year and can tell you with ALL certainty that DOES NOT happen...

Thought I'd follow-up this thread with this:

I called Marketing yesterday to place my reservation for my November dates instead of thru my host (he's on vacation) and so was given the standard speech about resort-fee, security charge and now emphatically, "No Outside Food or Beverages may be brought into the hotel". It ought to be interesting to watch how well that goes over at the Hard Rock!

The pavement between the HRH and the CVS across the street is well-worn from the people returning with cases of beer, water, Gatorade, etc. I'm not aware of this previously, but also have been reserving via e-mail to the host for a long time. The roller-bags coming in are about to get a whole lot heavier I suspect!
