  • Bachelor Party Aug 16-19th...Luxor or Mandalay Bay?

Never stayed at either hotel, I normally stay at Cosmo or MGM Signature. The majority of the group decided on Luxor. There's 4 of us that grouped up to share a room and we're willing to get a nicer suite that the entire group of 10 can hang at. I know Mandalay is newer and nicer, but is it worth paying the extra $ to stay there over Luxor? Which suites would work best for 4 of us sharing a room?

Mandalay Bay is definitely the nicer hotel and they also have daylight/light there if you guys are planning on going to any clubs/pool parties.

THESuite has 2 queens, well worth staying there over luxor.

          +1 for MB over luxor

there are some penthouse suites in The Hotel that are awesome for a bachelor party, I used to stay there before cosmo was built and have seen some pretty crazy parties up there.

Thanks for the feedback. We're looking at $68/night at Luxor and $145/night at Mandalay. I've been reading that both are upgrade sandwich friendly...hmmmm....

Problem is....your "upgrade" at Luxor will be less than your standard room at Mandalay...if all you're after is place to crash, then it doesn't really matter. If you plan on the Hotel enhancing your trip, don't stay at Luxor. If Mandalay is too expensive then look at Planet Hollywood, Mirage, even Monte Carlo is better than Luxor.
Like all great travelers, I've seen more than I remember, and remember more than I have seen.

agreed, Mandalay is really nice, but kind of far away from everything else, Planet Hollywood is a great hotel for a bachelor party!

I will never stay at the Luxor again unless it is an insane deal and it is a suite... that place is run down borderline Laughlin with a big light.

Good thing I decided on Mandalay then. I heard the Luxor tower has newly renovated rooms and that the suites there are decent. I'm checking in early so I'll see what a $50 sandwich tip can get me at Mandalay.
