International Rate VS Local Rate

Hi guys, got some friends going Vancouver for 4 weeks to visit family but they are planning on taking a week out to visit vegas for 4-5 nights. They are unsure weather to make all the bookings here (england) before they leave for Canada or just to arrive in Vegas and pay the walk in price. Does anyone know if you can get cheaper deals by just walking in or weather it would be best to just book it all beforehand, they are looking at the Wynn or Encore
