  • Skyloft Question

    Hi Guys,

We have a 2 Bedoom Skyloft booked for a bachelor party 7/18 - 7/22 and had a couple of questions for people who have stayed or been too them.

I know they do no allow outside alcohol but how had do they police it?

We are coming om Australia so would like to maximise on some duty free but not if MGM are going to kick up a big stink about it.

Can we tip the Butler to tun a blind eye? or are they not that heavy on the rules.

Also what are they like with guests coming back?

I know sleeping they might not allow but surely if we have some guests over from time to time that wont be an issue pending it is not an out of control party (Very well could be lol)

Any other tips or info would be great!

    Thanks

Just bring an empty duffle bag and load it up with your booze before you get there. It won't be a big deal. Technically all resorts don't allow outside alcohol, but nobody really enforces it. Just be discreet and you'll be fine. If you're laying down the cash for Sky Lofts I doubt they'll care who you bring and what you do....as long as you don't trash the place.
Like all great travelers, I've seen more than I remember, and remember more than I have seen.

It's easier for Skylofts to enforce the rule because the butlers are in and out of your room so much. I would definitely plan on taking good care of your butlers tip-wise and try not to be blatant about it by leaving your bottles out in plain sight on the table, etc...

The butlers will re-stock your fridge every day, sometimes multiple times a day, and spend most of their time around that area when they come in the loft.

Thanks for that guys that what I was thinking.

We will bring plenty of bottles from Duty Free but will keep them all away when not in the room and we will probably buy a couple from the Skylofts anyway so they won't know some are ours anyway.

once the bottles are in the room I wouldn't worry about it. never once have I heard of anyone confiscate a bottle of liquor in a hotel room.

Been to Vegas too many times to count, partied in too many pools and clubs to track, but when you live so close, why wouldn't you?

I stayed at Sky Suites recently and they didn't give a crap about our booze. The only thing is to access the elevators you need to show a room key. The one thing they do control is room keys and how many because it directly relates to how much they charge you for the room (i.e. the more people you declare are in your room, they charge a per person fee). Just a heads up on that.

You can have a ton of people in your suite, but to get to the elevator they need to be escorted by someone with a room key.

Be sure to access the lounge for free wine 6-9pm and free waters, OJs, coffee, etc all day. I grabbed a ton of them and brought them to my room. Worked great!
Just to avoid confusion...are you talking about the Sky Suites at Aria? This thread was originally started to discuss the Sky Lofts at MGM.

Ha! Never answer a forum question with a couple of cocktails on board! My bad everyone, misread the thread!

They won't confiscate the liquor but Skylofts has been known to charge a corkage fee for every bottle brought into a loft. It's not your typical hotel. It's very high end.

I've checked my alcohol in with the bell hops before I honestly don't think they care that much.

Interesting. i wonder what the charge... still prob fairly less than buying the drinks at the bar

Heck just hide the liquor after you are done drinking (hard to remember to do in practice i'm sure!)

Just back from a week in the Skylofts. We each brought two bottles of duty free booze with us and we had no problems whatsoever using it in the loft. The butler was great at getting us buckets of ice when we needed it and the fridge is stocked at least twice a day with complimentray water and soft drinks. We weren't even discreet with our bottles etc and we had no problems.
