  • Getting A Massive Suite at the Cosmo - Unbelievable Price

I did this last year and found a nice loophole with Marriott's match guarantee. When I was planning my July trip I decided to give it a try for the hell of it and it still works!

Works like a charm. The idea is connection rooms to build a HUGE suite at the cosmo. Slept 8 people last year for MDW and plan to do the same this year. Maybe even two suites if I want to get crazy.

1 wrap around terrace suite + 1 bedroom terrace suite = 1 massive suite to party with all your friends and their friends.
    • Connecting suite rooms
    • Combined 1810 sq.ft. interior
    • Combined 590 sq.ft. exterior panoramic wrap around balcony
    • 2 King sized beds
    • 3 bathrooms
    • Japanese soaking tub
    • Separate dining area
    • Modern kitchen with sub-zero refrigerator
    • In-suite washer/ dryer
    --------------------
    Here is how it works:

Marriott has a price match guarantee that if you find a lower price they will match it AND beat it by 25%. For those of you who don't know, the Cosmo is part of Marriott's Autograph collection and you are able to process bookings through Marriott.com.

Cosmo is running a "Stay Longer" promotion where you get 20% off three or more nights - you MUST stay at least three nights for this deal to work. It turns out, staying three nights is actually cheaper than two nights.

Step 1: Book your room (s) at the Cosmo on Marriott's website for 3+ nights.
Step 2: Go to Bookit.com (or any other deal site) and put in the EXACT SAME search (same dates, room type, etc.). The room price and total price should be lower than Marriott's due to the promotion they are running. It has to do with the way they are applying the 20% off room rate. Essentially you are getting 20% the room and then 25% off of that price.
Step 3: Submit a price match claim form (http://www.marriott.com/hotel-prices/travel.mi). File out the info, take screen shots of both websites (just in case CYA).
Step 4: You should hear back form a Marriott rep within 24 hours with your new revised room rates.
Step 5: Start planning your trip and booking tables.

PS. To save time, I had ordered all my alcohol for the weekend from Safeway and had them delivery it to the Cosmo. Saved time + money by not having to buy it on the strip. Last year I landed, checked in and within the hour had all my party supplies in my suites.

    ---------------------------
    My rates:

Price Match Rate is first, Original Marriott Rate is second:

    Wrap Around Terrace Suite
    • Thurs - $186 / $347
    • Fri - $420 / $784
    • Sat - $468 / $874
    • Total - $1074 / $2005

    One Bedroom Terrace Suite
    • Thurs - $147 / $235
    • Fri - $222 / $414
    • Sat - $360 / $504
    • Total - $729 / $1154

In all, I should be paying $3,158 but only paying $1,803. That is a savings of $1,355!!! Putting that toward a table at Light.

If you can get a better price anywhere, do tell.

I'm liking the Safeway delivery idea. I might have to do that next trip. What do they charge and how far ahead should we place an order?

Delivery charge was free for first time customers and I think 5 or 10 bucks after that. I placed it a week in advance but I think they only require 24 hours. Pretty clutch IMO.

What Safeway did you contact (or is this Von's as well)? Heading next weekend, staying at Jockey Club. We've got a kitchen, and would love to pre-order Booze/mixers/snacks.

              Thanks in advance.

Actually, it only takes one drink to get me loaded. Trouble is, I can't remember if it's the thirteenth or fourteenth.

A good friend would bail you out of jail, but your best friend would be the one sitting next to you saying, "damn that was awesome".

I live for the nights I can't remember with the people I'll never forget.

Yeah it all depends on which Hilton you stay at, when you stay, etc. but it's saving more than half off of at the Elara

Do you need to show proof of anything checking in when using the corporate code? or once you use the code online youre good to go?

It's an MVP code, made for people traveling for sports but the masses can use it. From what I've read no one has been asked for documentation but if they do I would just say you're in town for a sports conference or training, etc.
