  • Cab fare.....

Hey how much should I expect to pay for a cab from LAS to the Elara? And what would be the best route to tell the cabbie to take. I've been "tunneled" once in one of my first trips to Vegas and I just want to make sure about the route ad this is my first cab to the Elara. Thanks folks!

To Elara it shouldn't take more than $15 before tip if I remember correctly. Could of been 12 bucks but I'll say 15 to stay on the safe side. I believe the route they should take for PH/Elara would be Swenson St. up to Harmon Ave. and make a left and Elara should be right in front of you.

Yeah, I learned that lesson the hard way. Thankfully it was awhile ago.

Hey folks here is a story where a cabbie caught me off the guard and I didn't know how to handle it:

I wanted to go from Palazzo to Bellagio and he insisted that we go through industrial rd (clearly the long way... at least 1.5 mile more) to avoid the traffic of the strip. I didn't have an iphone with me to check the traffic of the strip so I didn't react (cab fare to via del Nord entrance of Bellagio was $12 before tip). Just curious, is that route usual to you or should I have insisted more to take either the strip or the Koval?

The same driver also reacted when I told him to go at the via del Nord entrance of Bellagio and he said some BS like Bellagio doesn't allow cab drop offs there but I insisted to try that any way and he obliged. I saw other cabs in that entrance as well.

Seems like a lot of times it's harder for them to rip you off if you travel from hotel to hotel that are on the same side of the strip.
