  • Bachelor Party - Wynn vs. Pallazzo vs. Planet Hollywood

    Hey everyone,

I know the Bachelor Party threads are cliche, but I got my question - which hotel would be best?

Group is 10 guys, +/- 30 years old. We want a place with a party vibe, with a lot of women to get the party going.

So far, choices are down to:

Wynn - never stayed, but seems like a great choice. Price is good for our weekend ($200/night). But is it too upscale for a party like crowd?

Pallazzo - love the rooms, have stayed before. Love the size of the rooms

Planet Hollywood - I know it's not as nice as the above 2, and rooms aren't as large, but heard it has a nice party vibe, and is also 40% cheaper than the other two! We don't have unlimited budgets, and would rather spend money on bottles than the room.

    What would you guys choose?

    Thanks in advance!

I was going to say Pallazo, until I read the budget part. With that in mind I would go with P.H. That 40% you save could do some damage towards tables

For a guys Bachelor party imo, choose the Cosmo and don't look back. It has the type of crowd I believe you are looking for. You have Marquee Day and Nightclub right there. It's center strip too and its rooms give you balconies. If its doable I'd advise pick that.

From your list, I would pick Wynn. Crowd is a little older than average, but you have access to so many wynncore clubs right there. Really good looking crowds during the weekend evenings when Tryst, XS, Surrender are going. Another plus is for a dayclub you have Encore Beach right there.

I am not a huge P.H fan at all, and I agree with the atmosphere at Cosmo and the proximity to clubs at Wynn, but anytime someone throws the word budget out there I go with a good yet less expensive place. Nothing sucks more than worrying about money. So I guess to truely answer, what kind of hotel budget are you comfortable with?

Keep in mind that if you stay at PH, you'll be cabbing it everywhere with the exception of Marquee (or Bank/Hyde). If you stay at Palazzo, you have Lavo, Tao, 1Oak and the Wynn/Encore clubs all within walking distance (some farther than others, but still). Might be worth staying up there just for that.

            Thanks for the post everyone

Unfortunately, Cosmo is too expensive given the smaller rooms. The rooms at Pallazzo and Wynn are bigger and the same price, so would stay there. Planet Hollywood is just cheap! So we can have more money for other things.

Right now I'm leaning towards Palazzo or Wynn though.

Hotel budget? Ideally $50-$75 per night per person (key word: per person). Therefore, a hotel that's $150 but can fit three comfortably (such as Planet Hollywood) is great. Palazzo or Wynn are in the $230 range, but you can fit four comfortably there, which makes it more appealing.

I'd go with Wynn/Encore or Palazzo. That money you'll be saving in rooms will be used to cab/limo it up and down the strip especially with 10 guys that requires 3 cabs or 1 limo for $80-100 just one way.

Get an idea (doesn't have to be set in stone) of where you'll want to party and it'll give you a good idea of how much cabs/limos will cost you and whether saving 60 bucks/night at PH is worth it or end up costing more when you're going to make 2 trips to WynnCore, 1 to Venetian/Palazzo, 1 to mirage for 1oak alone during peak times that weekend + waiting in those lines instead of just walking upstairs to your room.

So if bachelor wants to party at mostly WynnCore clubs then stay on that side of the strip and make that one night trip to Hakk/Marquee/Light rather than staying at PH and having to make 3 trips to WynnCore/Venetian area and 1-2 trips to the south end for Light or Hakkasan and not even hitting up Marquee which is a bridge away from PH.
2013 Calendar: March 20-21 (Treasure Island). May 24-27 (Cosmopolitan). June 23-25 (Mirage). July 18-22 (Cosmopolitan).
              Next Trips: RETIRED.

Completed: (2012): mAyOD 2012 Invasion! (Palazzo). July 20-22 (Cosmopolitan). Dec 21-23 (Palazzo).
              (2011): December 30-January 2(Palazzo). April 22-24(Venetian). May 13-15(Venetian). mAyOD 19-23(MonteCarlo). June 24-26(Aria). July 29-31(Bally's). August 19-21(PH Towers @ Westgate). October 14-16 (Aria).

Great call on the cabs/limo, that can sure add towards a budget if not planned properly for

                  Adot,

People will no doubt disagree with me, but if you're on a budget but still wanna throw a crazy bachelor party, book the Trump Hotel. Why you ask?
                  1) The trump can be had for just over $100/night (I have it booked over June 15th weekend for $109/night)
                  2) It's a 5 star hotel
                  3) The rooms and bathrooms are huge
                  4) It has a shuttle that goes to the Wynn and Caesar's Forum shops
                  5) Even with Resort Fees and 18% hotel tax (Don't forget about that in your budget at every other hotel too), it's still only gonna be like $140/night, which seems to fit what you were looking for.
                  6) For the sucker getting married, you can chuck in another $100/night to upgrade his room to the "One Bedroom Corner suite." It will be the best $100/night you ever spent on a hotel upgrade. The room will have a full sized fridge with ice maker, a blender, martini shaker, etc. Bring a cooler of booze and mixers and you'll be good to pre-party all weekend long.

Now there are downsides... the Trump is a 10 minute walk from the strip. It's non-smoking. It doesn't have a casino. However, if you take advantage of that free shuttle you can pop over to Wynn in two shakes of a stick.

How do you book the Trump that cheap? Go to Hotwire.com. Look up hotels in the North strip. Find the cheapest 5 star hotel... that's the Trump. And hell, if it's not, it's either Venetian/Palazzo/Wynn or Encore.

Good luck Adot, hope it all turns out well for the man of the hour!

I'd have to disagree with that. a $100 sandwich (not nightly upgrade) at other 5 star hotels on the strip will get you a way better room than a corner suite at Trump.

I had this same issue recently.

I was torn between a lively hotel like Palms, and between Wynn or Palazzo/Venetian.

Wynn was the most expensive but then once you factor in that your cab journey is $20 each way to anywhere it adds up. Also we do most of our partying in and around Wynn at Encore Beach, XS and Tryst.

As youre in a bachelor group, you want pool parties right? Its a bit of a hassle getting everyone arranged at a certain time in the morning, especially after big nights. You never EVER get everyone bang ready when you need them, and with pool parties you gotta be there early doors..

So if I were you i'd base my stay around A) the pool party at your hotel B) the nightclubs you intend to visit C) location and lastly cost. You arent saving huge amounts on your hotel. The cab ride costs will end up huge

Go with Wynn - you have EBC there, which to my mind is still the best pool in vegas. You have XS, Tryst, Surrender also.
