    When to book Encore

    Currently planning my trip for September and am due to be in Encore over LDW and the overall room rate for the week is actually ok.

    However, I can get much cheaper flights if I go 2-3 weeks later but the room rates are surprisingly through the roof at that time - anyone have any idea why that might be? Are the rates likely to move in my favour if I just wait?

      Mexican Independence Weeekend (Weekend of Sept 14) is usually a big fight weekend and might have something do to with the increased prices.

      2010-April 30-May 3 (Mayweather-Mosley Weekend)
      2011-May 25-June 1 (Memorial Day Weekend)
      2012-May 4-May 9 (Mayweather-Cotto Weekend)

        Book soon if you are going over LDW. Prices will spike up once people organise plans and want to be in LV for LDW. Always check with ***** in the "See if I can beat your rate" thread - to see if maybe you can get a cheaper deal too

If you are neither, then sit back, let the rich and/or good looking people sort their shit out, and then take their scraps. Booking early is not going to get you ahead of the rich and/or good looking people. Sucks unless you are rich or good looking. But that's what makes Vegas so great. It is completely transparent."

              Thanks for the replies - my later dates are 19th-26th Sept so it doesn't seem to be the boxing putting the price up.

              Wish I could figure it out as I could potentially save well over $1000!

                  I'm now considering booking somewhere else. I'm normally an Encore man but the prices on this occasion do look very high and Aria is appealing.

                  A little wary cos me and the missus love the Encore and worried that everything else will be a disappointment. Anyone here ever stayed in the Aria? Views on how it would compare to Encore?

                    it's a great hotel, your room will be comparable to encore as far as amenities and what not. casino is kinda dead compared to WynnCore but bellagio is just a tram away. Dining options probably won't be as "high end" as WynnCore but you're dead center strip so you have quite a few hotels around you to choose from (Cosmo, Bellagio, Caesars, PH, and some restaurants within Aria).
