So I booked the flamingo for a weekend in July for 3 guys (low 30s) but now I'm second guessing myself.. Looks like we will be cramped in a room. Has anyone stayed in "the suite" at Thehotel? Looks like it would fit us better and we wouldn't be so cramped.. Little concerned about the location as I hear its at the end of the strip away from the action. How's the pool and nightlife in the area?

Rooms at THEHotel are OK, but are starting to get a bit dated. Stayed there with 3 guys total in a room and didn't feel all that cramped. Pool and nightlife will be great as Light and Daylight (new club/pool) will be open by the time you're there.

With that said, I did feel very out of the action all the way down there. Granted, with Light & Daylight right there and Hakkasan somewhat close, there's more going on down on the south end of the strip than when I stayed there in Sept. It's still very removed from the center of the action, though; anywhere north of MGM, and you're going to want to cab it (even MGM might be a stretch in July in Vegas).

I think you can do better. If you each want your own bed, a Palazzo Bella Suite would give you plenty of room (rooms feel bigger as the square footage isn't divided between 2 rooms), and you'd each have your own bed (2 queens, 1 large pullout). Palazzo is a better location IMO, but part of that depends on which part of the strip you want to check out. You also might want to look into Elara.

I've stayed at both hotels. I wouldn't worry about Flamingo. Express your concern to the front desk clerk, give her $20 and ask her to see what she can do. The Flamingo has a great vibe and wonderful pool. I got a $20 upgrade to a suite, which wasn't really a suite, but a very spacious room / living room area.

Really? Flamingo has a great vibe? I must have totally missed something there.
