Worth trying the sandwich trick on Memorial Day Weekend?

One of the busier (if not the BUSIEST) weekends of the year in Las Vegas, obviously, so I ask you: is it even worth attempting the sandwich trick (we'll be at the Venetian) in a couple of weeks? I imagine the trick has a far greater hit rate if, you know, the hotel actually has rooms available with which to upgrade you.

Should we even bother, or am I going to feel like an idiot at attempting such a notion on this upcoming trip?

Doesn't hurt to try! But yes, it will be extremely busy and your odds on the sandwich working is far less than any other weekend.

I did a $20 sandwich at Palazzo LDW last year and got upgraded to a premium view. We checked in early on Friday, around 9 a.m., so that probably helped our cause. Definitely worth trying.

I get in at 10:30am, so I might just give it a whirl for the hell of it. Worst case scenario is that I look like a fool, which is bound to happen more than once on this trip.

Really depends on what you want with that sandwich, if it's a $20 for a upgraded view/higher floor then most likely you'll get it. If it's a $20 for a luxury to bella suite then your chances could be slim since those are the most popular rooms at venetian/palazzo.
