What are the best weekends to target, if you want to get the best rates?

Aside from using JC to find the best rates, are there any specific weekends that are priced significantly lower than normal? I was told the week before christmas is usually pretty cheap. Any others?

A few options:
1. MGM hotels have low fare calendar, which will allow you to browse through to find a cheap weekend.
2. Timing is everything. Hotels will hold their rates steady and then start to drop them 6 weeks out. This is when you start to see hotel listings on Hotwire and Priceline go up.
