What is this I am reading about a sandwich and getting an upgraded room? Does it really work? And if it does what hotels have you guys done this at?

Yes. Go to Subway or Quiznos before heading to the hotel. If you bring them a footlong tuna on toasted wheat (must be toasted), then you will get an upgrade.
