  • MGM Grand - July 1-5 2013

My friend and I (both girls, around 22) booked in to stay at the MGM during our Vegas stay.

I was just wanting to know what anyone who has stayed there thinks of the place and is there anywhere in there (pools, restaurants, bars etc etc) that we should visit or anything we should avoid?

Also, anyone in Vegas around that time should let me know!

If I was you, I wouldn't be tied down to MGM. Half the fun is visiting the other casinos and their bars/clubs/restaurants.

But in answer to your question, MGM has Hakkasan / Wet Republic for night/day parties. Craftsteak is a good steak house, there is Joel Robuchon for fine dining, Wolfgang Puck for a good meal, Fat Tuesdays for cheap/strong drinks.
EastCoast: "I will preach. Vegas is easy. So easy. Either be rich or good looking (or mooch off someone who is one of those). If you are neither, then sit back, let the rich and/or good looking people sort their shit out, and then take their scraps. Booking early is not going to get you ahead of the rich and/or good looking people. Sucks unless you are rich or good looking. But that's what makes Vegas so great. It is completely transparent."

Yep, ocam is right, you can't go wrong with MGM Grand, especially when they open the new club. It is also close to a lot of other good Casinos. I have stayed at the MGM Signature Suites for years, but the main hotel has recently been refurbished with all new rooms. Oh and don't forget Diegos at MGM for good Mexican food and Salsa/EDM on Friday nights.

I second Diegos. I have not stayed there during the summer yet, were actually going the week after you, but even before Hakkasan and without W.R. I enjoyed the place enough to book a second stay there

I'll be there from the 3rd thru the 8th.
MGM will be great, especially since they've remodeled. Wet Republic will be krazy, moreso that Saturday the 6th, don't be afraid to plan your days and nights around the hot clubs outside of the hotel from the postings on this forum...just don't limit yourself or you'll miss the point.

More importantly are you prepared for the dry heat lol!

I am aware there is more out there I think you missed my drift. I am just asking what is worth a look and what is not. We only have 5 days so I don't want to waste time.
However, thanks for the tips guys and its good to here positive things about the hotel. Very encouraging. We won't be there on the 6th ill be drunk in New Orleans for that part of my trip

Sorry to bump an old thread, but I'm interested to know what your favourite room type is at the MGM kman? What room do you suggest for 3 people?

MGM is a great all-round hotel I would say.

If nothing else - go for the lazy river pool - it's awesome.

Has a fun / young crowd too.

Don't forget to sandwich at check in
