  • Holy F%^& Vegas April 4-8

    Hello all

I'm new to this board(from Jersey) and I never been to Vegas in April
I usually take a trip once a year, but only been the months of March, Sept, Oct and Nov.

I have a couple questions for anybody that can give me feedback.
Of late, I have always stayed at the MGM and I'm working on booking this week but had issues finding MGM for the date I am going on all the travel websites (Thurs April 4 - Monday April 8)...so I just called the MGM and they are already all booked that Sat/Sun because of the Country music awards.
I'm just use to MGM, never had a bad time, love the casino floor and pool (Love Wet Republic)
So I guess I need to finally pick a new location. Any advice on what Hotel would be the best when it comes to pools and not only pools, but a pool with a nice party and a social crowd. I 'm very in to housemusic, but really all kind of music. If anybody knows if any big name DJs will be in Vegas that week and so on.
Any info on clubs and bars would be helpful as well
I'm going with my 3 other friends and were all males and late 20s, coming from Jersey.
I just know Vegas changes every couple years with nightlife and parties and my last trip was March 2011 and I really did not leave the MGM, only for Drais one night afterhours. I usually always leave the hotel, but for some reason I went to the clubs inside the MGM because the pool kicked my ass all day.

Thanks for any help you can give me

Also, this may be the proper forum to ask. I usually use travelocity...is there any other sites that give better deals?
    Thanks

Check Kayak because they do a good job of checking multiple websites but I also use SmarterVegas.com pretty often. They keep a list of promocodes available for booking directly with individual hotels. This works out well because most hotels give you the option of changing your reservation up to 48 hours prior to the travel date. I usually book a good deal and then if I come across something cheaper later I can always cancel and rebook without any fees but if you use sites like Expedia or Travelocity you are often locked into your chosen price/property.

I thought the Country Music Awards were in Nashville. I am going that same week but have not heard that. Any more info on that?

Cosmo is always fun, or you could wynn/venetian and go to the pool parties at those two places and their clubs

I dont know man....I was a little confused. Like I said, only been going to MGM the last 3-4 times I went and wanted to do the same because I liked Wet a lot and it just easy. When I went online MGM was like the only casino not popping up on all the travel sites so I just called them and was told this. I can get a room Thurs/Friday but Saturday and Sunday was sold out
Actually, they only had rooms with one King bed. I was looking for 2 queens beds as it is 4 guys and were going to get 2 rooms with 2 queen beds. I rather just stay at one hotel all 4 nights...I started to question the rep over the phone on what is going on that MGM is like the only place that only has one kingbed rooms that weekend...and she gave me that answer about some kind of country music awards or something

I gooled country music MGM april 5/6 and got this

Nope they are absolutely in Vegas. We ended up staying at MGM the same weekend as the awards sorta by accident and looked a hot mess coming from the pool the day of only to find people dressed to the nines. When we asked why they were lined up they all looked shocked that we didnt know. Our bad...

Don't go through Travelocity, try www.mycheapvegas.com for deals with promo codes.

Both have top pool scenes and nightlife. While Encore as a whole is no means dead on the weekends, Cosmo still has more of a party atmosphere. There are ridiculous number of bars and just young attractive people everywhere

The good thing about Encore is that it's connected to Wynn and close to Venetian/Palazzo so you have XS, Surrender, Encore Beach, Tryst, Tao/Tao Beach, and Lavo all very close vs Cosmo just having Marquee and Marquee Day Club.

But Cosmo does have the sick views of the Strip, the Bellagio Fountains, or Marquee. The L shaped terrace rooms are baller.

Unless you're a somewhat serious gambler (Cosmo's casino can't hold a candle to Encore/Wynn) I would stay at Cosmo

Thanks for the feedback. I'm booking this weekend and leaning towards Cosmo. How far apart is Cosmo from Encore?
Actually how far is it from MGM....I like to do my gambling there. Gambing def is not what this trip is about, I do enough gambling here in Jersey when I go to AC.
I noticed you said lots of bars at Cosmo.....def like that option as well throughout the day. Bars any good????

Cosmo to Encore is cab distance. Cosmo to MGM is walkable.

Bars are good and are lively before Marquee opens and continues through the night. Cosmo is simply a party hotel. They're the only hotel that doesn't have its majority of revenue from gaming

If you're just looking to gamble at a M Life property, Aria is right across a skybridge from Cosmo.
