Anyone ever stayed at the Rio?

I did three years ago give or take. Never again. The room looked like it was from 1979. It just felt dirty and gross. Maybe because it was so old? It was a big room, but still. The casino felt old and outdated. It's super far from the strip, too. I wouldn't recommend it.

A long time ago I did. It has gotten a little better since I stayed there. The distance from the strip kinda sucks, but there is shuttles every 15 mins or so that take you to harrah's or back to rio from harrah's

stayed at the palms across the street and while i really enjoyed the palms the taxi and hike to the strip was annoying to me I

The rooms are outdated but not nasty or anything like that. The basic rooms are pretty spacious too, standard being about 600 sq ft

The space is good. Example, if its 3 guys and you get a 2 bed room, you can put a guy on the couch and not feel crowded. Basic rooms DO feel a little outdated, but its not a luxury place. They have good eats. The casino is only decent. The topless pool is fun if you are there on the right day.
If you are going to need to go from the strip back to your room various times in a day, the trip will be annoying. But if you are gonna go once to a party spot for the day, its not so bad.
When i go to Vegas, I stay for 4 to 5 days.... I could never do my entire trip with a room at Rio. But I have done it to where I stay there for maybe 2 days, then stay someplace else for the rest of the trip.
I play poker, and since the WSOP is at Rio every year, I have spent a fair amount of time there.

I stayed there once with some friends. I remember the room being huge, but there's no clubs there that I'd want to go to (I'm not sure if Crown is still open & Voodoo Lounge is a little bit demure for my taste). I like their restaurant & they had Sunday Champagne brunches.

Its not a bad hotel but the location does take it down a notch. We stay there when we are traveling with family and rented a car. Whenever I travel with friends with the intent of partying it up I wouldn't even consider the Rio.
