  • Marriott LNF - Cosmopolitan

Has anyone successfully been approved for the LNF guarentee using Orbitz current 15% off Promo Code which the Cosmopolitan is eligible?

This was their response after submitting my claim:

"Thank you for submitting a claim for Marriott's Look No Further(SM) Best Rate Guarantee. We received a claim from you for The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, Autograph Collection®:

    Confirmation number: XXXXXX

According to our review of your claim, we have determined that the nightly room rate with which your comparison was made is not less expensive than the rate you confirmed via an official Marriott reservation channel; instead the offer reduces the final amount you will pay, regardless of how many nights or which hotel you choose.

For this reason, we must deny your claim under the terms of Marriott's Look No Further(SM) Best Rate Guarantee program.

    Thank you for choosing Marriott."

My feeling is that because the Cosmo is an eligible hotel for that promo, that they should fully honor that. Anybody used this before?

Sounds like the LNF Guarantee is based off of the nightly rates. So, if the Orbitz nightly rate is higher or the same, then they just discount the total, the LNF wouldn't apply. That's how it sounds anyway....would have to read the fine print of the LNF Guarantee to be certain.
Like all great travelers, I've seen more than I remember, and remember more than I have seen.

I just did it a couple weeks ago for a group of 4 rooms. Initially 3 out 4 got approved and one didn't even though they were all identical. Submit it again. It should work.

as they stated the discount of -15% is applied to the full payment and not the nightly rate. LNF always compares the nightly rates.

but sometimes trying again helps, heared about some cases where the same claim got approved the 2nd time they tried!

Wraparounds are included in the Orbitz deal, if you're travelling before 4/15

It took us about 5 tries but we finally got them to honor it

Just tried submitting my claim again. This time I was more explicit in pointing out the Orbitz promo code not only further reduces the total, but I also stated the nightly rate gets reduced. Fair statement, right? Their reasoning for denying my previous claim was the nightly rates were identical

I am in the middle of the same situation with Marriott LNF and Cosmo. I booked a wraparound and a few double rooms. Marriott rejected the claim for all reservations based on the same explanation posted above. I chose not to apply again but I did reply to their email with an explanation of why I thought the claim was justifiable. My argument was similar to what mmoreno said above. Initially they got back to me in about 12 hrs with the denial. And they replied to my challenge about 12 hrs later stating that they will escalate it for review. Still waiting to see the final result...

^Good luck man. My 2nd claim got denied as well. At this point I'm probably just going to book it through Cosmo, take the 20% off and get identity points

According to the LNF fine print, you should be able to file LNF against lower reservation booked thru cosmo site

Maybe I'll try this and the third time will be the charm. The nightly rates are identical though, so I think they'll give me the same run around they did when I tried my claim with Orbitz.

For some reason Marriott's taxes bumps the total up to $666.40 whereas the Cosmo's is $582.40

edit: Does Marriott include the resort fee?

quick update on my situation...despite telling me that they would get back to me the marriott LNF people have not replied to my request for escalation after several days despite saying in email they would re-look at it. i guess if they ignore me its as good as denied.
