I have comped rooms elsewhere but we're leaning towards MC since we'll be able to get our friends much lower rates there and we want them to have maximum spending funds.

Are you switching properties more for a change of scenery or was the experience that bad?
You have had good experiences there tho right Chuck? Or are you staying there strictly on the deal you can get your friends? I am leaning towards there myself because it seemed like a pretty good casino and hotel. Cant speak on their customer service however.
Yeah I've always had a great time gambling there, and we've went over to eat at the food court before when we were staying at Aria to snag a cheap lunch. The Pub was great too. I haven't stayed there yet though. I have a similar comp at Mirage (just not a suite) but my friends would have to pay like $300 more to stay at Mirage with us...and last time at Mirage was a little underwhelming...not bad, just not great.

Honestly, all I want is friendly folks at the desk and a clean comfy room. If MC delivers on those two things (which should be elementary) I'm sure I'll be back since I already like the Casino and location.
Like all great travelers, I've seen more than I remember, and remember more than I have seen.

MC seems like a no-brainer with those savings. Thats a damn good start on bottle service. That food court does have some nice options when quick and cheap is the key. The thing that I found cool was the elevator location, there didnt seem to be LONG walks to the room. At least one set of elevators brought you right into the middle of the casino. As I am writing this I am convincing myself to stay there

I'm looking to double down on the savings and suggested my friends share a room. We'll have a suite to hang out in if we need to gather and I need to do all I can to maximize available spending funds for them!

I'm going in with reasonable expectations...I don't expect to be blown away, I just hope the value is there. Wish someone could give some feedback on the pool situation at MC. Then again, pool parties will be available if we want to do a pool so I guess that's not real important.

Well, #1 they lost my bag. #2 they did not make me happy about the loss by hooking me up with something nice, like a free stay. #3 the big bug i found flying around in-and-around the lightbulb area grossed me out. #4 there were parts in the suite, particularly around the windows, that had not been cleaned. Very dusty and dirty. #5 Monte Carlo is TERRIBLE for gambling. It's always a complete and utter disaster, I don't know anyone who has won big there. I've stayed there three times, and always lost. I played slots so much and never won more than like $130 from one spin. It's just an awful spot to gamble at. If your friends stay there, make sure they take their gambling elsewhere. Not Luxor or Excalibur, either. Mandalay Bay, however, is pretty nice. #5) It's not very modern. The couches are really old, I think from the early '90s. Another thing that turned me off.

The food court used to have one spot that was good, but it's gone. I forgot what it was called. Now it's just crap like sbbaro's pizza and mcdonalds... no thank you.

Why did you stay there a 3rd time?

Hmmm... my wife noticed a bug in our room too... a little crawly one so I killed it. Place could use some updating, but I still loved the casino. I won $1700 at the craps table and the dealers were very friendly and the drink service was on point.

Ah feck....if my wife see's a bug in our room (especially an airborne one) we'll be checking out I'm sure. I'm probably going to go thru with it....but I'm a little nervous.

Update: I filled out an unsatisfactory survey post-stay when they emailed me to take their survey. Long story short, I've been offered 1 free night in a Monaco suite.

Not bad. Will you go back there to use it?

It was because I mentioned the bug in my room.

Yeah, I think I'll take 'em up on it. They gave me a number of a host to call directly for when I go.
