Elara location

Thinking about staying at Elara for a bachelor party. Seems like a pretty solid location right across from Cosmo and CityCenter but I know distances in Vegas can be deceiving. Could we stumble home from those places in a few minutes or is it going to be more of a hike? Will being there hurt our game?

It will def be more than a few minutes. It is one of those in between a walk and a cab. Its just out of the view in the photo past the P.H. entry.

Google maps says it's an 8 minute walk, but also shows that you walk down the middle of E Harmon and the Blvd.
Realistically it's probably 20-30 minutes to walk it. It takes about 5-10 minutes to walk from Aria to Cosmo and you don't have to cross the strip.

I stayed at PH this past Jan and there were a couple girls in our group that stayed at Elara (was called PH Towers then). It is connected to the back corner of the mall area of PH. I'd say it was ~10 minute walk to get from the lobby area to the overpass that takes you to Cosmo (2nd level above casino). You could be on the casino floor or Marquee in 15 minutes. Aria would be another 10 - 15 minutes. There is a cab stand right below the lobby from Elara that never seemed to have a line.

The rooms were very nice. There wasn't a lot of foot traffic in the lobby area or the bar near the lobby, but you're 5 - 10 mins from the PH casino. My friends were able to use an upgrade sandwich to get a suite with a view overlooking the strip.

The Elara is a sweet place to do a in room party. Just make sure you get at least a 1br suite so you have the full kitcken and the big couch area with the projector screen TV. You can unplug the cord to the wall TV and connect your Ipod/Phone to the speaker system to listen to your own music.

We had a bday get together there last Dec and we ended up staying inside the whole night with a big group. I'm staying at Elara for a week later this Oct for work/pleasure. I love the place.

As far as the walk, its within the Miracle Mile shops and to get to the LV Blvd sidewalk, it would be a 8-10min walk. Its not that bad since its indoors and its safe. If you walk from the lobby it exits out to the PBR Bar side of PH/Miracle Mile shops. Its no different than walking through Crystals Mall from Aria to Cosmo.

If you're doing a Taxi, the drop off at the lobby is quick since the elevator is just a short walk from the door, compared to other hotels where you have to go through the Casino. And if you self park, Elara is actually connected to the parking lot of PH/Miracle Mile shops so its super quick to get to the room.

Basically unless you're partying in the same Casino as your hotel, thats the only time you're going to be a short walk away. Thats fine and all but you should be ok with a 15-20min walk back from partying at Cosmo to Elara. You're going to be walking that long or taxi no matter where you go. People party on the strip and take Taxi back to off strip hotels such as Palms with no problem. Elara shouldnt be a big deal to worry about as far as distance to the party spots.

Shit with the post marquee closing cab lines at Cosmo, and the walk to the front drive where you grab a cab, the walk to Elara is much much faster! If you can get a good deal and have a group who wants to party in the room a bit, Elara is the way to go!

^^^ Exactly. Thats something people forget. The cab lines out of Encore and Cosmo, can be a good 30min to 1hr easily the hours people are leaving the club. A 15min walk across the street to PH to Elara is actually not that bad.

At the Palms when we used to go to Rain, the cab lines are pretty long so we would walk across to Gold Coast and grab a cab there. Gotta think outside the box and post club planning too when you choose where your going and what hotel you're staying.

I'd classify it as just an annoying walk. But as people have said, the alternative is waiting in the cab line at Cosmo, which could be even more aggravating. Pick your poison.

I dont think its anything different than walking from Marquee thru Crystals to Aria. Or Walking from Marquee out the sidewalk to Flamingo. Its really not that far in terms of how many blocks you have to walk. Its like walking half a block to go through mall to get to Elara.

Ya Elara is just a 5-7min walk through Planet Hollywood. So just walk across the street from Cosmo through the Miracle Mile shops at PH.
