  • Vdara early check-in/ upgrade sandwich

Hey guys! So as you might have seen me posting around I'm going to be in vegas october 26th- 28th. Well i just booked my flight and we saved about $150 going during off peak hour (8am..yikess!) But we figured a little coffee and we will just roam the strip, hit up the tables and lay by the pool to pass the time until check-in.
My question is that i haven't seen many people post about Vdara on here which is where we are staying. Anyone have advice on early check-in, does upgrade sandwich work here? Also, can you use an upgrade sandwich on a prepaid room?

It really just depends on if they have a room available, but if you want a upgrade in room then you best just give them your luggage to hold and not check in so early.

When you say "prepaid", do you mean that you booked it through a third-party package? Those can be a bit dicey; I've heard anecdotally that it's more difficult to get upgrades, and nearly impossible to get charges comped. I've always booked directly through the hotel, though, so I can't say for sure.

In general, I tend to just check in whenever I get there; if it's in the morning, I ask whether there are upgrades available, and say that I'm not in any hurry if waiting might help. My last trip I got upgraded from a base Bellagio room to a renovated fountain-view room, plus it was ready right away, and the last few trips before that I'd regularly get a step or two upgrade at Mandalay Bay.

Good to know. I booked through hotwire unnamed deals. So you book then they tell you the hotel and you prepay for your stay.
