I got an invite to go to CES 2013 (January 8 to 11), and I'm currently looking for a reasonable hotel booking (which means I'm pretty cheap). I might go for the rates on the official CES website, but I want to tap into the resources here. Can anyone help me? My budget is $150 to $200/night.

Last year I went for CES and my fiance' was there for Miss America (about the same dates as this year) and we stayed for 7 nights to account for the convention / pageant overlap.
We had a 2 bedroom / 2 bathroom unit + living room, kitchen, dining room at the Jockey club for $1110 for 7-nights ($160/nt.)... and the room had 3 queen beds, a queen sized pullout couch, and a roll-away .... we slept 6 comfortably so the price was actually only $26 per person per night.
Great view of Bellagio fountains for our living room, was about a 3 minute walk from our room to the pickup location for CES at Bellagio.
I made sure to book like 5/6 months early so rates weren't jacked up because of CES .... because they will skyrocket, act fast whatever you do.

1. Apply for a pass during their "open registration" period - if you do it early enough it is free, after a certain date it jumps to like $250 or something
2. Work for a company that gets a bunch of passes and/or is a vendorComment

Update: I ended up getting a pretty good hotel rate at Harrah's because of the Total Rewards benefits (Playing craps tables at Planet Hollywood for 8.5 hours at a time has finally paid off haha). Harrah's is fairly decent, but considering how close it is to the convention exposition centers, we are all good. Thanks everyone!Comment
