  • Help on Room/Suite for 1st (and likely only) Vegas trip

    Hi all,

I was referred to this site by a some American friends as I am planning a 7 night stay in Vegas for six guys next year. Before we all end up married (two will be bucks already) we thought a once-in-a-lifetime trip to Vegas was on the cards. It's unlikely we'll ever have the chance to do it again so currently we're pulling out all stops.

I've spent the last three nights reading the forums and the information on this site has been invaluable. While it's too early to think about guest lists I have started looking at flights and accommodation and I thought frequent Vegas travellers could help on finding the right room.

Ideally a suite to accommodate all 6 in their own bed would be ideal but I'm not keen on the idea of roll-aways as I figure they'd be pretty uncomfortable? Correct?

I've looked at the 2BR Suite at Encore and 2BR Skylofts which is in our range but the biggest downer is we'd still need 2 more rooms if everyone wanted a bed. Is there a suite up to $2.5k a night (or combination of suite and connecting rooms) that might be suitable. MUST be on the Strip!

I should add if nothing changed in Vegas between now and when we plan to travel we'd likely hit all Encore/Wynn clubs (inc. EBC) as well as Bank, Marquee, WR and a few others. (MGM position for commute?)

Is the "Stay at Wynn" deal worth the $200 investment for 6 guys? It'll still likely be $400pp after drinks all-in so BS of $3k all-in instead might be a better investment? Although min on Fri/Sat/Sun nights from what I read would be higher minimum?

Trip is being planned for June 2013 at this stage.

First off if you're looking at June 2013 you should definitely plan on going during the invasion.
Second, you should stay center stip. Basically between E Desert Inn Rd (North boundary) and E Tropicana Ave (South boundary).
There are a ton of great options in that area. For the "once in a lifetime" trip I'd narrow the list to:

    Caesars Palace
    Bellagio
    Aria
    Cosmopolitan
    Wynn/Encore
    Venetian/Palazzo

If you all want beds in one suite you're looking at a monster suite of some kind. Probably not going to be practical, so your next best bet will be a couple of 2 bedroom suites. If you're looking for a total of $2500/night to sleep everyone then I'd suggest calling each property and asking them for their best solution to fit your needs. Most often you can't find information about connecting rooms online so it's just easier to call them. My personal top 3 would be Aria, Bellagio, or Caesars Palace.
Like all great travelers, I've seen more than I remember, and remember more than I have seen.

If everyone needs there own bed, I think your best bet would be to call and book one 2bedroom suite and then book (or request) the rooms right next to it. In my experience, 2 bedrooms are never located next to eachother on the floor.

In June, I was in Vegas for a bachelorette party, and most of the girls didn't want to share beds. We booked a 2 bedroom suite (with three beds - one king and two queens) and the suite next door with a rollaway for a total of 5 beds. It worked well because we have three bathrooms for 6 girls (very important).

Like, Chuck said, you are going to have to call the hotel and find out what rooms are next to each other for each property and how they are configured.

Also, I'm always the one that gets the rollaway and I don't think it's uncomfortable. I'm only sleeping for a few hours a night anyway.

Thanks Chuck. I'll put a call into each of the above and see what they can do.

What exactly is invasion? I saw the special section for it but still not sure what it's all about and includes? $60 wristband? At the moment I've planned for us to leaving Vegas on the 20th to head back to LA for Kandyland if we can get tickets. If we can't Invasion sounds like something we want to learn more about

PS: Still haven't worked out what AOD is either yet that people keep referring to.

Jack Colton sets up the invasions. They are 4 days and each day has a dayclub and nightclub that Jack sets up a deal with. You pay $60 for a wristband that gets you in to ALL the parties. Last year a few had open bars for the AODers. AOD =Army of Drinkers I havent attended one yet myself but am trying to work out a trip for June next year. The wristbands go on sale 9/4. If you're considering it I suggest snatching up some bands asap b/c they will sell out. You can get a refund up to 45 days before the event if you cant make it.

Do you mind pullout sofas at all? They're not that comfortable but you should only be staying in the room for sleeping, pregaming and showering. If it doesn't bother you then you can get a piazza suite and bella suite connecting at the Venetian. It comes with two queen beds, king bed and two pullout sofas but that would mean 2 of the guys would have to share a bed and the prices aren't that bad for how much space you get.
            Venetian/Palazzo/IP/Cosmo/Mirage

            My hotels of choice.

Oh don't worry I'll drink it. But you better know that when I do, we about to get buck!

propbably one of the best secrets of Vegas are the West End Penthouses at the Cosmopolitan (although they are now being marketed). Call the reservations line, as there is no other way of getting a quote. they do 2, 3 and 4 bedroom penthouses and i think are decent value considering size and numbers that can fit in them. furnished beautifully, un paralleled views and in the coolest hotel on the strip. i am staying there next weekend but sadly they werent available for all my stay, a 3 bed penthouse (4 actual beds) was $2500 per night. i am told you could comforably put 8+ people in that, so you may get away with the 2 bed which i was quoted $2000 for.
