Location does matter, I think Elara is as far away as I will go off the strip only because it is connected via Miracle Mile. NONE of the other 5 guys have been the Vegas. I am afraid for them if they get lost. Partying will happen in our room/club/casino. It is really going to vary. We have A LOT of friends coming down for the weekend football game (WSU vs UNLV) everyone of them has totally different budgets and ideas. I foresee alot of people coming to our room as we will probably have the biggest room.
Well the Bellas at Venetian/Palazzo can sleep 6 people on beds/foldoutsleepers easily without having to get rollaways and the rooms are pretty nice for vegas first timers. Do Cosmo if you want to be closer to most of the clubs.
    Venetian/Palazzo/IP/Cosmo/Mirage

    My hotels of choice.

Oh don't worry I'll drink it. But you better know that when I do, we about to get buck!

Or look at Jockey club... I booked a 2 bedroom unit with them last year and it was pretty awesome.

2 bedrooms - 3 queen beds + pullout couch + rollaway was available (we didn't use it)
2 bathrooms, walk in closet, full kitchen and living room. It was a bit dated, but for what we needed, perfect.

View of the Bellagio Fountains.... from our room on the 7th floor to actually standing on "the strip" was 90 seconds. There was also a special elevator that went directly to the Cosmo casino floor, from the room to Cosmo casino was 90 seconds also.

Our unit was a bit dated, but it was only $1100 for 7 nights.... I would guess your stay (Sept 13th - 16th) would be under around $700 or so.

Here are some photos of the place:
This was the exact VRBO ad I used, the woman Vanee' (spelling?) is super easy to work with.
      The view:

6 guys in a Terrace suite is pushing it. I had 6 girls in there recently, but we had one early departure after 2 nights and we were still a little tight on space. (Albeit, I bet we had a lot more luggage than you guys).

Here's how the sleeping arrangements went down, nobody slept on the floor:
        3 in the king bed
1 on the living room couch
1 on the (leather) eating nook couch
1 pulled together an armchair+footrest and laid some blankets on it in the bedroom

Keep in mind this was 6 very petite girls who were comfortable snuggling up to eachother. You could possibly get away with it with one on the floor since I'm guessing 3 men to a bed is too much. Dude on the armchair isn't going to be comfy though.

Now if you got a wraparound on the other hand, it would be okay.

For ref: here's the terrace suite floorplan

Okay here are my thoughts and I have greatly appricated everyones input.

          Ideas in no particualar order..
#1 Book TERRACE SUITE - FOUNTAIN VIEW @ Cosmo HOPE that a $50 sandwich gets us moved to a wraparound suite or better.
#2 I already contacted that guy off of ebay asking for my dates and a 2br suite @ Elara.. I made him an offer about 24 hours ago and have yet to hear back..
#3 Book a Bella 2 queen suite @ Plazzo - idk why I just don't care for Plazzo that much maybe its just the rooms are too "hoity toity" looking?
#4 Book @ 1br suite at Elara which is still pretty big

          My ranking..
#2 (if he accepts my offer)
          #1
          #3
          #4

EDIT: Also seriously looking at Jockey Club as a very very good alternative!!

Visitted some friends in Jockey Club while I stayed at Cosmo. It's nice and spacious, and functioning kitchen. Be warned, no cookware/dishes in Cosmo suites aside from 4 cups I think. You have to pay for extra stuff unless you get room service and keep it.

Cosmo is beautiful, but just not very functional for bigger groups unless you have enough $ to spring for a wraparound or Lanai

Hope all works out. Looks like rates are buttf*ck stupid that weekend, is there something going on that week?

Finally came to my senses realized I will be in the room for probably a total of 7 hours a day the entire trip (including sleeping) Would rather spend that 400 bucks on gambaling and bottles.

Much thanks to Sidekicknicholas. Sucks my reservation was never made to Elara. Oh well... There is always 6 months from this next trip to start planning again. Jockey Club here we come.

Let me know how you like it... we loved the room because of the view and location (hopefully you'll get the fountain side).... one of the best parts is the check-in line is never more than like 3 people long.

                Other tips for JC -
The direct elevator to Cosmo is at the back of the parking area between the two JC towers, easy to find, but make sure you look where you are in cosmo.... finding the elevator on the cosmo side is tougher. This elevator is great, gets you to the casino floor ASAP and if you plan on heading towards Aria/MGM/etc going through this elevator to and then to cosmo's 2nd floor is the fastest way.

For getting a limo/cab/etc if you walk out of the Jockey club's main entrance and turn left (away from the strip) you'll walk right in the Cosmo's taxi area, many more options there.

Your JC key card should also get you access to the bamboo pool at cosmo (maybe others too?) since the JC pool is pretty small (although it is open 24/7 - same with the hot tub).

We stocked up the at a grocery store before we arrived (had the limo detour to Vons) and kept some munchies for breakfast, tons of mixers/booze, and some snacks and frozen pizzas for late night munchies after you've blown all your cash.

there was a small stereo in the room to with aux-in for Ipod or whatever, but we had to bring our own cords FYI (can''t remember if it used RCA ->3.5mm or 3.5mm to 3.5mm
