Cosmo "sandwich" question...

Six of us will be staying at Cosmo on August 12th (Sunday) through Wednesday. We have 3 terrace studio 2 queen rooms locked in (City Center view, I assume). I'm not necessarily worried about getting bigger rooms unless we got three wraparound's which won't happen. Anyways, what would you guys assume the tip be if I'm looking for a fountain view with high floor? Or is the City Center side cool enough to stick with it?

When I booked a 2 queen terrace studio the front desk person told me they only have those rooms on the 40th floor and above, so you should be set on the high floor. As far tipping for a view, I wouldn't tip more than $20 total for all 3 rooms especially since you will be there not on a weekend in August which is generally a slower time of the year for Vegas.

Just got off the phone with Cosmo and the Terrace 2 Queen Studio's are all over as far as floors are concerned. They also do not offer connecting rooms.

I would tip, but not for that upgrade... If the person is nice and tries to get all your rooms on the same floor then definitely tip, I would not give the sandwich and expect a fountain view, I've stayed their twice without booking a fountain view and both times I was automatically booked into a fountain view... I still threw the front desk person a tip, not as a bribe, but as a thank you.

Yes, tipping at the front desk. Some people like to give money up front, but we waited till the end of the check in process to see if our receptionist got us a fountain view room which he did. We gave him $40 and we were on our way.

Hand the receptionist your ID and credit card with the money folded neatly. At Mirage, the receptionist set it aside and knew the reason for the money. She was unable to offer an upgrade and returned the money.

In my experience all the key cards will have the primary persons name on it.

nope all of them will have the persons name who put the credit card down not additional names

Boooo. That's annoying, though I guess at least I'm not paying extra person fees for them, so I shouldn't complain.
