Staying in a comped room there on a Monday - Thursday. Going to try to get upgraded from the standard room to the updated "Red rooms." Anybody had success with this? For Mon. - Thurs., I was thinking $20 would do the trick...

Are you a Diamond player? All the times I've stayed here, they either auto upgraded to a Red room (even EDC weekend) or with a tip and if it's available, one of those bedroom suites (Calais, Emperor, etc). I've heard that Paris was relatively more on the stingy side for upgrades but I've been pretty lucky here. For 3 nights during the week, I think you have a pretty good chance with a $20. Unfortunately, I'm just Platinum level. It's $30/night to upgrade, so I've thought about just doing that; but being the gambler that I am and it being a weekday stay, I think I might just take my chances with the $20.
