  • 5 guys and a hotel room

5 guys going to Vegas in late August (Friday, Sat., Sun.) and looking for hotel recommendations. Among the group we've been to: Hard Rock, Aria, MGM, Flamingo, Palms and Hard Rock. Our range is $350 to $400 a room a night. Looking to gamble, do a pool party, take in a gentlemen's club and spend some time at the sports book (NFL season beginning). Would prefer something centrally located but not tied to that. Also, would like something a little more wild than the Aria. Initial thoughts are Planet Hollywood, Cosmo and Caesar's. Curious on insight to those and any others.

Out of those 2 hotels Cosmo all the way. It's the most happening hotel right now. It's a got one of the best pool parties going right now (Marquee Day Club), one of the hottest clubs (Marquee), a wide arrange of happening bars (Bond, Chandelier), and restaurants (STK, Holsteins, Jaleo, Comma Ca). It's centrally located and Planet Hollywood is right across the street, and a 10 minute walk over to Caesar's. Plus with the the LNF Price Match Guarantee deal that is explained one of these threads, you should be able to get a really nice room at that budget.

Are you looking to get 1 room or 2?
You could probably get a suite or 2 rooms at most places if you do some legwork.
(IE - we stayed at Encore last month for free on Thursday and $220 a night on Sat/Sunday. We are by no means high rollers, but we were offered a deal thru their Red Card promotion.)
And the new sports book at Venetian is INSANE. If you want to catch games, stay somewhere close to there.
Cosmo is probably your best bet. That place is awesome.
Or Encore/Wynn. Encore Beach Club, Surrender, XS and Tryst are within stumbling distance.

We were thinking one room (and we're considering a suite). If we go that route, recommendations remain the same? I have heard lots of good things about Cosmo and was leaning there if possible. How does the Venetian sports book compare to Caesars (which I have always considered the best)?

The book at the Venetian is nice, not the best but on par with Caesars. The book at the Palazzo is f'ing awesome though!
It was originally Jay'zs 40/40 club that was converted into a sportsbook. It's like a big club with great stadium seating and all these private boxes lining the upper area, plus an outdoor patio.
That being said I would look into two connecting Bella suites at the Venetian/Palazzo. You would have four beds, two pullout coaches, and over 1400 sq. feet of living space for the five of you. It also should be within your budget (hopefully).
Let us know how it turns out!

So we've narrowed it down to Caesar's, the Wynn and the Palazzo based on the recommendations from you guys and a buddy one of us knows out in Vegas. Any final advice on which of the three and what type of room (again, looking at up to $350-$400 per night)? As a heads-up, we're going to do Encore on Saturday followed by clubs at night. Friday and Sunday are still up in there (other than drinking and gambling of course).

Like all great travelers, I've seen more than I remember, and remember more than I have seen.
