Can anyone please tell me which hotel is better? I have heard so many good things about the Encore but at the same time the Cosmopolitan is the newest hotel. I am currently swaying towards a wrap a round suite at the Cosmopolitan unless anybody can advice me better.

Cant really say which is better...i've been in both...Encore is a fat ass bachelor pad type....nice, quiet, a lil off the strip ever so slightly...Cosmo is the jumping spot in the midst of the chaos of City Center, near Vdara, Aria, etc...I thought you have more bed choices in Cosmo for multiple peeps...it depends on your crew...you can't do bad staying at either. -
The crowd at Cosmo tends to be more young, trendy, hipster than Encore. Encore feels more like money than Cosmo. If you're gambling, table minimums at Encore/Wynn (which is attached) are higher. The casino at Cosmopolitan is small and laid out a bit weird. Rooms at Encore are really really nice, Rooms at Cosmo are probably as nice but newer. If you plan on walking to other hotels, Cosmo is in the middle of the strip. Encore is next to/part of Wynn, but beyond that it's a long trek to anything else. I wouldn't walk it, especially in the summer. Service at the Cosmo is great, everyone I ran into makes it clear they're allowed/supposed to have a personality. I've heard people complain about service at Encore being snobby but I haven't seen that.Comment

i've never had the snobby attitude thrown to me at encore and i've stayed there a few times. last time we were there was this april and i was disappointed we werent staying at cosmo, since i hadn't stayed there yet. truth be told, after staying at encore again and walking through, eating at, gambling at, and partying at cosmo, i am VERY happy we stayed at encore. just a different feel to it. and on weekends especially, wynncore still gets the party vibe. just my opinion. but you really can't go wrong with either.Comment

I agree with everyone's sentiments.
Encore has a little bit more of a reserved feeling to it, although their clubs and bars are excellent.
Cosmo is just a constant party atmosphere.
You also get more for your money at Cosmo than Wynncore.
I actually prefer the Palazzo over both, but it's just personal preference, you can't go wrong with either.____________

Got to go with Encore on this one. Cosmos party vibe is great, but for me it is better to visit Cosmo than it is to stay there. At some point(even in Vegas) I like to chill and do some gambling and relax. I could not find that element at Cosmo. We walked over there on last trip around 3 P.M to hang out and gamble and they had house/dance music blasting throughout the casino. I know everyone loves it but come on I don't want to hear that ALL day long. Just my opinion but staying at Wynn, Mirage, and hopefully Bellagio is perfect for me and then I can visit the other places.Las Vegas is sort of like how God would do it if he had money. ~Steve WynnComment

Thanks everyone for their input seems like there really isnt much init. Think we will stick with the Cosmo as the sole purpose for our trip is to party. I rang the hotel earlier and was told if we stay at the Cosmo there is a specific queue for hotel guest when it comes to getting into Marquee and its free entry where if we stay at the Encore there is no guarantee we will get into XS or Encore Beach Club. We are getting tables and cabanas anyway so this would really affect us but i thought it just gives us another option.Comment

I've been staying at Encore for a couple years now. Last stay was in April. I also recently spent last weekend at Cosmo.
The Basic room at Encore is one of the best standard rooms in Vegas. To compare an Encore std room vs Cosmo Terrace room, I would say the Encore is slightly better. I just like the layout better and the colors. But its not something that is much more over the top. Cosmo room colors don't look that flashy to me.
Wrap around Terrace is a whole different feel though. Its still the same colors as other rooms. Encore has much more lavish rooms though. I stayed at the Salon Suite at Encore and that is pretty Fckin sick.
Either hotel is a great choice. For some reason I see better rates at Encore than Cosmo on the dates I need to go. SO it all depends on where you want to be and your budget is.
Pluses for Cosmo:
Marquee is downstairs.
Near Bellagio, Aria, PH, Paris.
Cool view of Bellagio towers if on North side.
Pluses for Encore:
XS, Surrender and Tryst are downstairs

Encore, Palazzo, and Cosmo are my 3 favorite hotels in Vegas. Encore is the nicest, Palazzo is usually the best deal and has huge standard rooms (2 queens and 1 full pullout works great for groups of guys), and Cosmo is the wildest.
Comparing Encore vs Cosmo
Encore has advantages in niceness of the rooms, quality and size of the casino, and daylife/nightlife options within walking distance (XS, Surrender, Tryst, Tao, Lavo, 1OAK, EBC)
Cosmo has advantages in being the "it" spot right now, views from the room, location on the strip (for walking the strip), and overall party atmosphere. You can have a great night there without going to Marquee or gambling because of all the bars. Wouldn't really say the same about Encore.
