No go sandwich at Elara

I usually sandwich at every hotel in Vegas. Nobody ever blinks and usually get some sort of result.

Tried a sandwich checking into Elara for the invasion a few weeks ago...girl behind the counter looked at me like I was a dribbling, drunken idiot...which I was, but not until several hours later.

So don't know if was just bad luck, or maybe the Hilton take-over, but looks like sandwiching at Elara is a no go

On the plus side, all the hoo-ha about bringing people to your room is all over now. They have someone checking keys at the elevator, but had people coming back to the room with me on several occassions, never once had a problem with it.

But seriously, I just asked nicely and I got upgraded from a Studio to a 1br suite. It wasnt a high floor. It was actually the lowest floor possible overlooking the pool, but who cares. I got upgraded to a 1br. haha.

As far as someone checking the keys at the elevator, theyve always done that as long as 1 person has a key. The big issue was that every person that was going up needed their own key.

i think at one point during the hilton takeover they were making all guests staying there get wristbands to show they were guests and not randoms. they werent doing the room key checks so thats why everyone was complaining.

Right. After the takeover. It was wristbands, then they took that away. Then they required a key card for each person. Now I believe theyre even lax on that again.

I hope its back to how it used to be. It became my favorite party room in Vegas recently.

Yeah it definitely fits the party requirements for big groups that come from socal like us fitting like 10 people in some kind of bed in those 2 bedroom suites for dirt cheap too. and with a full kitchen and everything.

I'm staying in a 2 br suite there in July and I'll try a sandwich for a good view or something then and will let you guys know how it goes. If anyone tries it again until then, please post how it goes.

this past weekend during EDC weekend, Thursday night check in around 10pm

$50/sandwich

booked 1BR which turned into a corner 2BR which eventually turned into a 3BR when my friend somehow was put into one of the connecting rooms

Stayed at Elara for 3 nights. Slipped the lady a $40 sandwich and sweet-talked the hell out of her and got upgraded from a 2 bedroom suite to a 2 bedroom master suite (2 bedrooms and 2 living rooms). She liked us so much, she called us at the room within 5 minutes of checking in and offered us another upgrade to a Penthouse.. so we fucking took it. $40 sandwich for an upgrade to a penthouse for 3 nights, worth a shot guys!
