IRockNvegas, a 400 dollar hand shake seems a lot, but you got a really good deal out of it!

I have 2 one bedroom terrace suites booked. How much should I tip at check-in to ask for these rooms to be adjoining and upgraded to a premium view preferably on a high floor in the east tower? 50? 100?

I don't believe the one bedroom terrace suites can be connected. The only rooms that are adjoining I believe are certain wraparounds connected to one bedrooms. You can request that they do something like that for you when you check in, but I have found from experience that those are booked rather quickly so it will really just depend how booked up they are when you, for that kind of upgrade though I would try the 100. As far as getting a better view I have tipped $20 on a terrace room and got a fountain view for one room, but for 2 rooms you may need to throw a $50 their way.

As of now, I only have a wraparound terrace suite booked. So, if I were to give the front guy a 100 handshake, that could maybe get me a connecting one bedroom ?

The safe route would be to book the 1 bedroom as well, and just call them before you go and request that the 2 rooms be connected. If you already have them both booked you don't need to throw a 100 when you check in, since you already requested that the rooms be connected they should accomodate you.

I don't think you'd get a comp'd one bedroom terrace suite if you throw them a $100. Best bet is to book that room and in the notes section make sure you request that they are connected. That $100 could get you on a high floor and a good view.

All just depends on what time you check in and how busy it is that night. also depends on how long you're staying. Its a chance... just have to try.

4 Nights in 1 room, 3 nights in another. Better to check in early or better to check in late? I'll be arriving early with a car so doesn't matter to me.

If you really want it I would book it before hand, I've been told by the front desk people that the connecting rooms to the wraparounds are usually sold out most weekends, so you'll have to get really lucky to have one availible to upgrade to.

get there as early as possible, tip the employee at the front desk and say you are willing to wait.
And I mean really early, that's your best shot.

We have a Terrace Studio booked and I was planning to tip sandwich for late checkout/view/etc. Is there another specific room that I should ask for an upgrade to with 2 queen beds (or enough sleeping area for 3-4 people)? Sounds like a Wraparound is an easy enough upgrade, but it's a King bed with pull out or something? Thanks all!!

The wraparounds do not have a pullout, some one bedrooms have a pull out sofa, but your best bet is getting a terrace studio with 2 queen beds which they have. I would call the hotel directly to see what the cost is to upgrade to one of these, it shouldn't be much at all since its in the same room tier as what you already have.

You do not need the GM. You need to talk to someone in group sales. The GM if you were to get his contact info, will not respond, he will pass it on to group sales, often times taking longer than if you had just contacted group sales in the first place. I'm sure you can find their contact info on their site.
