Encore Upgrade?

I am coming into town with my wife next weekend. (Thursday-Sunday).
Any point in trying to get an upgrade at Encore? I know the rooms are nice and it's not like I am trying to show my wife how much of a 'baller I am.
But - if we can get a sweet room for a $20 tip, why not?

Getting an upgrade at the Wynncore properties is tough, I've stayed there twice once in each hotel, at the Encore the $20 was handed back to me with a "We don't accept tips" line, at the Wynn I only got upgraded to a panoramic view resort room, which is just a standard room but on a high floor with bigger windows and a nicer view. You may get lucky but especially since its an over the weekend not midweek, the best you are probably looking to get is moved up to the panoramic view rooms. You could try to increase your chances of success by using a $50, but it will really all depend on the check in person and how busy they are.

My girl and I stayed at the Encore Tower Suites last June and although I didn't try the "tip trick" our receptionist handed us a laminated upgrade brochure if we were wondering about upgrades. Hope this gives you a better idea..

I only tired with $50 sandwich, becasue I needed the double beds. So far, i'm 6 for 6. Ususally we'll get the reg suite with double beds on a high fl with a view.
