How's the Palms?

How's the scene at the Palms these days? Is it worth staying over a weekend and hitting up Vanity and/or the Pool parties? I know the Cosmo is a great place to stay and party, but what about the original party hotel (or was that the Hard Rock)?

Curious to know what everyone who has stayed there recently thinks...

It does seem to be the Hard Rock you're thinking of and as what appears to be one of a few fans of the Hard Rock on this site I'll tell you the property has come a long way in the past year under the new managment of Warner Gaming.

The place got hit bad in the recession coupled with some pretty bad management deals, service suffered all around and the place at times seemed desolate. My understanding is that Vanity and all pool promotions are back "in-house" now... lots of money being invested into the property in upgrades and some remodels. I spend 3-4 nights a month there and can tell you that spirits are up and the FUN has returned.

The Cosmo is indeed where the "cool" and those that think they're the "cool" kids go, but I'm hearing that things have tightened in gaming, comps, etc.... the Grand Opening hoop-la stuff is over and they need to turn a profit like everyone else. It's a beautiful property and was the "in" place last year... let's see what happens this year.

I mistakenly listed Vanity instead of Moon/Rain, so I was curious about the Palms, but learning about the recent changes at the Hard Rock has me considering that locale as well.

I was at the palms recently and i must say i had a blast there and they seem to be great with comped xtras and upgrades. Only drawback is the location its kinda a pain to get back and forth from the strip and the taxis add up other than that I loved the ppl we met in the place and the over all vibe
