So Elara check in is at a ridiculous 4 pm. That bothers me less than the more ridiculous 10am check out, but I was wondering how early you can just go to the desk and get room info. I've been to hotels where they let you check in but say that your room won't be ready until 3 (or 4 in this case), but some won't even let you go through the process until you can enter the room. Anybody check in there early yet?

I'll probably just go to the airport in shorts, check my bags at the hotel, and go to Tao Beach until my room is ready...but I was trying to avoid checking in drunk!

Really depends on what day your checking in and your room type. Vegas hotels because they are so large, have a pool of rooms that opens up as housekeeping inspects them. Meaning your room number is not predetermined until you're at the desk. Housekeeping starts cleaning rooms around 9am so its likely that even if you get there at 10am, they will have a room for you, that is of course if you're not to picky on room type/view/etc.

I've stayed at PH Towers, before it was Elara and was told to come back at 3 so I could check in. I didn't mind because I was already chillin in my bro's room across the street @ the Marriott. But, Alot of Hotels say this. I've found the PH(*formerly Elara) to me more strict on this than other hotels...

...But you can usually check your luggage in early with the Bell Hop. They'll hold it for a few hours until you check in. Average I've heard was 4.

As far as checking out... I often ask for late/extended check out time if its free. If not, I just check out over the phone while I'm packing. Give an extra hour or two in the room till Room Service comes and gets impatient. Usually the 3rd or 4th knock... Just remember, you keycards may not work once you check out. So, leave a stop or something if you still need to get into the room.
I still remain "the best kept secret"

We land at 9am Friday... Probably wear Marquee pool party outfit on the plane, drop our stuff with bellhop and straight straight to the Marquee meet up

Thanks for the info guys. Hopefully there are a lot of vacancies since it's a Thursday check-in, but sounds like I'll probably be doing a stop, drop, and roll to Tao Beach. I'm not really too broken up about it!

I've honestly never had a hard time checking in early at hotel in Vegas, but we would usually be rolling into town between 12 and 1 in the afternoon.

I checked in around 1pm at Elara in March. Got a great room on 54th floor.

Anyone have any idea if arriving on a Tuesday (for mAyOD) makes it easier or harder to check in early? And how does it affect sandwiching an upgrade?
