I don't think I'm that close to the next level, I'm guessing it was just my timing last month.

If I were you, I'd book something for now, and just keep checking. Many times for June trips I have found a cheaper rate later in May, but its no guarantee, so good to have something to fall back on.

Good advice. I just booked Mirage at a pretty good rate(100 less than Luxor) so even if nothing comes up I will be alright.

The fact that you got Mirage for less than Luxor means that the price jump is due to the trade show at Mandalay Bay and when you are booking. The Luxor price jumped purely on location alone.

I'm still kicking myself for not locking in a stupid low rate at the Luxor for May a few months back.

Yeah I'm locked in with mirage so I feel good now. I think nyny is even raised rates because they were way too much as well.

Check to see if there are any conferences/ meetings going on when you're there. You may be able to get a much better rate, even on a busy weekend.

The UFC finale is that weekend, so I would jump on any good offers you can get!

I just checked Mlife and my Vdara shows $171/avg, Luxor $150. You sure you're not getting a rate for the full trip?
well, 38000 is about the population of the city i grew up in....

I just checked and the rates are all still sky-high for this timeframe. Fortunately I locked in my hotel rates at the Cosmopolitan in January because we were able to book Terrace Suites for $650 all in for Fri to Monday, while the going rate on the website is almost $600 PER DAY.

American Airlines sold out of much of their cheaper inventory as well.

                          Definitely something going on.
