    What's going on at Elara?

    I've been here since Sunday and got a note yesterday that the pool would be closed until Friday and the lobby would be closed on Thursday for a special event. Today they are setting up stages and sound equipment in the pool area. Perhaps a grand opening celebration?

    Also, the Westgate sign is gone and the "Hilton Grand Vacations Club" sign is installed. I sort of miss the old sign...

      Do you have to wear wristbands to get to thru the security at the elevator? lol

          is there anyway to get more than the allotted wrist bands? I think it's ridiculous that they are asking their guests to never have visitors to their hotel! what if it's someone's bday and they want to pregame with their friends before going out??

          can you do the $20 sandwich and ask for more wristbands at check in or something?

            The even better question is; What if you wanna bring a chick or two back to your room? Are they gonna tell you no you can't bring girls like you're staying at your moms house? It's a f**ken HOEtel!

              If I hadn't gotten a great deal on the suite or the amount of people I had staying with me changed, I'd honestly switch hotels at this point.

                Wow... srsly?!? Wristbands to get up to your room? Looks like I won't be going back there again. =/

                  is it just me or does that place has the worse reception in vegas? I couldn't even send a text out on my phone (at&t iphone)

                    Happened to my friend too (att/iphone). Verizon worked just fine. ATT was dicked though.

                        This wristband thing sounds like serious bad juju... I am making an assumption that if you ARE a "Wristband'd guest", you can escort whomever you want to your room, but they have to be with you at the Elevators (so that's not too much different than other places that check keys at the elevator)... I hope it's the case, because if not it's extremely F'd up.

                            How are you supposed to get your House Call Girls to the room? You gotta meet them in the lobby? That's just dumb.

                              I don't think it sounds like they work like hotel keys where you can come down and escort people up with the way people are explaining their experience with it. I believe everyone has to have a wristband to go thru or they can't go up at all. so you can get 4 for your standard guests that are staying in the room and then additional 4 for invited guest
